Physical Version of Zelda BOTW on Switch 2 contains the Switch 1 cartridge and an upgrade code

who the fuck had this on their bingo card?

I got they would remaster BOTW, that is a given, but to have it cost MORE then the original release is just beyond greedy.

This isn't a remake here folks, this is a port, a remaster...they have no issue making one pay more money for just a port......
Does it cost more? How much is the BotW launch day $60 worth today?

Nintendo doing a 'nintendo'.

Imagine if Sony released demons souls remake as the ps3 game disc for $70 with a code to download the "improvements".

Except this is even dumber than that since it should just be a free patch. Nothing is being remastered or remade here. There is no actual switch 2 "edition".

yea none of that matters, clearly the fucking price that it was in 2017 at $60, is not what they are charging for a glorified port

Onimusha 1 was remastered and released at the price of $20...

Clearly, Capcom didn't fucking charge people full price and then make it MORE EXPENSVE with some fucking excuse of inflation.

Stop.

Onimusha released at $49.99 on PS2, they didn't fucking release the remasters at $74 and be like "ok doe, but how much waz it lauch day WORFTHS today doe?" lol

If Capcom thought they could sell Onimusha Remake for $70 you think they wouldn't? Their accounting department is just in there having conversations about looking out for hobbyist gamers?

Now do this comparison again with the recent $50 remaster of Ninja Gaiden II

Sure they have. They're not charging $49.99 for new releases. You don't think RE9 will cost at least $69.99?

Never fucking said anything remotely like that btw....

They are not selling REMASTERS BEYOND FULL PRICE

They do not port games and then make the price higher after the original release.

No one is fucking saying they will not raise the price of BRAND NEW FUCKING GAMES, the fact that you are even trying to compare the price of Resident Evil 9, a full brand new game, with a port from 2017 is hilarious

Now everyone knows why they went after Yuzu so harshly.

A giant portion of the Switch 2 marketing will be to resell literal Switch carts as Switch 2 carts but charge for the upgrade as DLC.

Hard to do that when you could already do that in an emulator without paying for the upgrade.

I don't have a problem with the price if they put the whole Switch 2 version on the cart. That is where the issue lies.

These upgrades are going to force users to need a Micro SD right away if they play a few older titles.

I mean, there are comments in this very thread that are just...

ikr

I mean shit, at least put both BoTW and ToTK in 1 package and I'm completely fine at full price, but to make it MORE MONEY for a remaster is beyond wild

edit, shit we can't even find 1 remaster of Assassins Creed where the shit was MORE MONEY then the original, "greedy" EA....put Mass Effect entire series on a collection, they didn't just release Mass Effect 1 remaster at full price and then be like it "fuck it, make it more expensive then its original release" lol

So...the people folks loooooooove saying are soooooo greedy, they are not even doing this shit, the normal EA, Ubisoft, Activision etc general neck beard common argument doesn't even support THEM DOING THIS CRAZY SHIT

With the way they presented the upgrade packages, Its clear they took the dolphin emulator trying to come to steam very very personally.
