I have Sony KDL-43W805C TV and Dell Ultrasharp 1440p U2515H Monitor and Pro games looks stunning on both devices.

I am a little bit disappointed since 1440p is not an native output option but:

IQ is INSANE.

I'm playing TF2 and MWR since day one and especially TF2 blew my mind it looks superbly clean now and i wish i can get TF2's 1440p res on my monitor as native output.

2 captures from 3840*2160 to 1080p.

These looks fantastic.
Now I'm sad that DC will never get a pro patch. We could have photomode iq during gameplay... :(

Hitman on the Pro is a lot more pleasant. The menus are snappier, the loading times improved and the aiming is much easier thanks to the improved framerate.

Got it as a 1080p TV user, and I gotta say, it's an absolute game changer when it comes to VR. RIGS looks so much sharper than before, love it. That alone justified my purchase. I wouldn't recommend VR without the Pro after experiencing it.

Didn't notice much difference in Skyrim though.

GAF help, I got my Pro have put my 2TB HDD into it but I can not for the life of me get it to install the OS from my flash drive it keeps saying something along the lines of "Please insert a USB stick with 3.70 or higher in"

I have a 32gb flash drive, have formatted it to FAT32, made "PS4" folder, "UPDATE" folder inside that and placed the actual firmware downloaded from Sony just now into the Update folder.

What am I doing wrong???

Just leave it on Automatic and you'll be fine. Everyone is overthinking this. If you leave it on auto it will output RGB 8bit when HDR is off and YUV4:2:0 10bit when HDR is on. You don't need to do anything it just works on it's own.
Actually turning RGB on outputs YUV 4.2.2 on my games with HDR on.

got mine at target at 7am for $365 after coupon and taxes, nobody else but i see they're sold out now based on brickseek at my store. most target stores in my area had 3.

I've replaced the HDD in my new PRO, but it keeps saying it cant find the usb with the update. And I just used the usb to replace the hdd in my old PS4..

EDIT: For some reason it worked putting the usb in the back usb port.

i assume you have COD IW, what about a MP screenshot from that? The beta graphics didn't impress me in MP.

If it's a blank hard drive, you aren't applying an update, you're installing the OS to the hard drive entirely. For that you need the different, larger download for performing a new installation.

Go to the PS4 system update download page and look for that, you'll know you've got the right download link if it's like 900 megs instead of the much smaller size of an update.

Got my Pro today too. :D And because everyone always hates on Gamestop I have to commend them or rather the one employee. He managed to get me a Pro, when it is actually sold out everywhere in my city (Germany of course. XD Land of Sony) and the console I got was actually not for free sale. I already thought I had to wait for next week or even longer.
Thanks again Mr. Unknown GS Employee. Also for thinking I looked hardly 18 when I am actually 30. XD

I got an amazing deal on a Samsung KS8000 55" but they are giving me a 65" instead!

What the hell should I do?

Also the PS4 Pro is dope as hell. Love it so far.

Transfer finally completed.

Played one round of Titanfall. It didnt look shockingly better but the IQ was cleaner. Also the menus were much much faster when editing loadouts! I dont know if that means my old ps4 was just bugged or if that is an actual ps4pro feature.

Then I played some Hitman. That looks really clean now. This one felt like a bigger jump to be in IQ.

Bad_Boy

time to take my meds
Estimated 105mins for 375gb transfer via USB. I knew i should have deleted those games, but not too bad.

Could have been worse.

So they shipped you a 65" instead of a 55"? Keep it. Their mistake. Just make sure you didn't accidentally order the 65" or were charged for the 65".

Some people are complaining that they put the usb connections too deep where some usb devices don't connect properly.

It would be interesting to see a comparison shot with the regular PS4 of Ratchet and Clank.

Thanks, where do I get the 900mb file from as I can only find the 300mb one.

Edit:

Found it, they don't like to make that bit easy do they.

Just got mine delivered at my office. Am I good to install my 2TB HDD right away before even powering it on once? I assume so since I'll have to reinstall the system software anyways.

Question, how much time does it take to re-format a 2TB when i put that back inside a brand new PS4 Pro?

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Ok, got PS4, posted pictures in the Box topic :p

First game tried: Shadow of Mordor on a 4K TV without HDR support.

Game supports option to prefer resolution or prefer quality. Quality locks the res at 1080p but promises to enhance visual effects. I couldn't notice much of a difference in what 'quality' was, but I could sure as shit see the shimmering and jagged edges on things, especially anything that's a bit distant.

Playing the game in higher resolution mode is so much better, IQ is *SUPER* clean. Frame rate has not buckled at all so far. The wording on the option also seems to imply the game dynamically changes resolution up to 4K depending on what's going on .. so that's amazing.

Also, the 5Ghz WiFi downloaded the 9GB Pro update in approx 18~20 mins, not sure how this benchmarks with my laptop but this is a huge improvement over PS3's download speeds.

Got mine earlier. Swapped out the HDD for the SSHD, installed the firmware and am now re-downloading all the games and apps I need. :)

Hmmm if it did the update / initialisation fine it doesn't seem like a hdd issue though. Try booting to safe mode. https://www.playstation.com/en-au/g...-system-stability/safe-mode-on-playstation-4/

Some people have needed to turn on HDCP 1.4 in safe mode if you're using an older TV that doesn't support HDCP 2.2 as well

Thanks for the reply, but seems the firecuda is defect. Just swapped with original 1 tb and smooth ride. Just downloading games with Pro patch.

Make sure you downloaded the 'full' update, it should be around 891 MB, and not the update which is around 312 MB.

Just bought a Pro at a big electronics retailer in my city (Media Markt, Germany). They had like 50 stacked near the gaming area. Not sure why you guys are having trouble buying one in your country.

Transferring data & games via ethernet takes 2h (~400GB) but I don't have any interest in playing any PS4 games in the near future anyways so no I don't really care.

Going to gift my launch day PS4 to a friend I guess.

Hey Rey you haven't joined the Pro party yet? ;)

After trying it today I kinda want a 4KTV now, which would be enormously stupid as I bought a TV only 2 years ago.

I'll probably buy one :(

If I bought a 2TB HDD to go along with this, should I swap out the hard drives before even turning the console on? Or do I need to do some sort of setup before I swap them out?

Not long. I put in a 2TB in mine today too. Its not like the old style fat formats. It only takes a min or two.

The reason why I ask this, previously this 2TB was inside the previous PS4 with it's contents backed to another external 2TB HDD portable drive. Now my question is, when i remove the 1tb from pro and swap that with the 2tB, would i be allowed to restore the 2tb OG PS4 content from the 2tb external HDD to the 2tB HDD that i just swapped inside the Pro

Ps4 UI seems so much faster to me on the pro. Its not my imagination is it? Even the library seems to load crazy fast now. And I have like 60 games in there

Also another question, does the Pro come with the HDMI2.0 cable? Or would we have to buy that separate? What's the advantage of using HDMI2.0 cable on a native 1080p screen?

I'd like to know this as well. Just bought a Pro, but have no idea what type of cable they include.
