Dude, where you been? Did you really not notice this?
What I remember from the census was that somehow the democrats were using it to game the system...or something.

It was a big Tea Party thing for a while. So I don't think Boehner et al came out against it, but Beck, Bachmann, and the usual brigade of crazies definitely did.
President Obama has tapped Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) to play Mitt Romney in mock debate rehearsals, the Washington Post reports.

I suppose we must point out Kerry is a damn good debater, but the irony of the selection is just too much
Liberty Plaza Events has signed on musical acts Lynyrd Skynyrd (Aug. 26), Trace Adkins (Aug. 28) and Kid Rock (Aug. 29) for the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla. Other artists such as Ronnie Dunn of Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Robert Randolph and Night Ranger may also appear.

Gallup will have Kerry up by 2 by tomorrow AM.
Anyone with even a cursory understanding of the last decade of American politics should see the humor in this.Practicing presidential election debates against a guy that was in actual presidential election debates is ironic?

Sen. Marco Rubio chided the White House in an interview airing Monday for not giving him a heads up on its plan to change the way deportation law is enforced.
Rubios plan for a GOP-friendly DREAM Act is dead for the time being, a victim he says of President Obamas move to put DREAM-like policy into place by executive action. Rubios unfinished plan achieved near-mythical status among Republicans, who hoped it would forge a middle path between anti-immigration hardliners in the GOP and those holding out hope the party could make a play for a chunk of the Hispanic vote.
The White House never called us about this. No one reached out to us and told us this was on its way, Rubio told ABC News in an interview set to air Monday night. And, I mean, if they were serious about a real solution to this problem and not politicizing it, then why dont you reach out to people?
Rubio earlier attacked the White House for not allowing him be the chief negotiator for the GOP on immigration. As Rubio worked on putting together a bill, immigration-focused conservative Republicans like Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach were pre-emptively condemning the plan, vowing not to support it. The bill didnt seem to have great prospects in the House, either. Rubio accused the Obama administration of actively trying to kill the plan, a charge the White House adamantly denied.
The census, you fools. A gub'ment, socialist, baby-killin' job.

Byers confirmed the 3 p.m. show will feature “a rotating group of hosts from the network’s pool of contributors.” Cupp and Salon’s Steve Kornacki are confirmed as co-hosts. One source “said the rotatation format was a temporary plan, though that could not be confirmed with others.” He didn’t confirm the other names floating around.
Someone is pining for a new gilded age.
On another topic, this GOP Rep from TX has made comments in the past and he really should find a way to get a non-comical photo to accompany stories about him.

everybody else doesn't vote.
To recap: When Democrats endorse ideas Republican pioneered, that doesn’t lead to bipartisanship. When they endorse ideas Republicans currently support, that doesn’t lead to bipartisanship. And when they act on their own, that’s too partisan.
So what, exactly, are they supposed to do?
