I love how conservatives horribly abuse and misinterpret the term fascism. All these talk radio hacks would benefit greatly by signing up for Political Ideologies 101 at their local community college.

Update:

Okay, I got a copy of my lease, and I went back to the polling place, and the eleciton judge said that wasn't an acceptable proof of residence, either. She said I needed a utility bill from within the last 30 days to prove my residency.

Well, guess what? The utility bills are all in the name of one of my fucking roommates, so I can't prove that I live in the building two fucking blocks away according to her.


My parents are driving out here to pick me up. They'll take me to the place I currently AM registered to vote at.


So much for the wonderful same-day registration BULLSHIT we have here.

I voted yesterday in the abandoned warehouse five blocks from here. There was no line whatsoever. I feel good about voting. It'll make a difference.



Edit: I do think they should use better paper for their ballots. It seemed like toilet paper. Sheesh!

Battleground poll is a partnership of two firms, one republican and one democratic. The 50-48 is the republican side's estimation, the democratic one predicts 51.5% - 46.5%

It does kind of annoy me that I can't decide when everyone else seems to be having these hopium religious experiences or anti socialism parties.

Everyone else seems so divided, wish I could get in on the fun. :D

What state do you live in? I want to look up your state's laws. That shit sounds suspicious

We are holding an election night party tonight (Belgium) at my place. So far I can stream MSNBC and Fox for live results, and CNN on tv if I want (not really - but mostly as backup if the MSNBC stream fails).

Now my question: is there any way that I would be able to receive the daily show in a stream? I'd really love to catch their live reporting. I remember I was able to watch it in 2004, but I can't remember how it worked. Will they be streaming for the occasion?

Also: we will drink a beer for every battlestate or current mccain state that gets called for Obama. Wish me luck on getting very drunk!

Meh. That Battleground Poll has been almost entirely useless this entire General election. It was fundamentally broken for half of the cycle and then when they "fixed it", it still never logically responded to what was going on in the world. It can be ignored.

Under Jim Crow laws, many southern states adopted literacy tests in order to disenfranchise minority voters.

Its a shame the campaign has to end.

The 'Hopium' as you all call it will never be more potent than it is today.

I have no doubt that Obama is a fine, idealistic and honorable man, but he has to face a whole system of corrupt lobbyists, special interest and congressmen looking out for number one, not to mention he has also been handed a dire economic crisis to boot.

Sorry to harsh the buzz. :(

Queens was crazy. 30 minute wait because there were six Election Districts in one elementary school and my district (lots of apartments) had four times as many voters as the one next to me. This is going to be a big deal in midwest cities I think.

Yeah, considering a lease is a legal binding document, and proves you have a place of residence, it should pass. It does here in Wisconsin.
