NEW YORK (AP) -- The Nevada director for Barack Obama's presidential campaign and a former top aide to New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has died at 44.
Terence Tolbert died of a heart attack Sunday in Las Vegas, family spokesman Basil Smikle said Monday.
Tolbert was on leave from his job as the chief lobbyist for New York City's public schools at the state capital in Albany to work for the Democratic presidential nominee.
Obama spoke with Tolbert's widow, Freida Foster-Tolbert, to offer his condolences. In a statement, he called Tolbert "a strong force in this campaign, with a positive outlook that brought people together."

pongonis said:Please don't think I am not compassionate but I posted back when he made his emergency trip to Hawaii that granny would end up passing on right before the election. BO has no compassion for anyone and I would not put it past him to have contributed to her passing. I believe he was involved in the Donald Young murder as well. He is evil and he is going to take America down if he makes to the WH.

A statement from Obama and his sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng:
It is with great sadness that we announce that our grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, has died peacefully after a battle with cancer. She was the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength, and humility. She was the person who encouraged and allowed us to take chances. She was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and left this world with the knowledge that her impact on all of us was meaningful and enduring. Our debt to her is beyond measure.
Our family wants to thank all of those who sent flowers, cards, well-wishes, and prayers during this difficult time. It brought our grandmother and us great comfort. Our grandmother was a private woman, and we will respect her wish for a small private ceremony to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to any worthy organization in search of a cure for cancer.

I'm sure he made his peace with the fact when he saw his Grandmother the other day. He knew it was coming. Same thing happened to me with my Grandfathers death.kkaabboomm said:Obama found out about her death at 8am (local time wherever he woke up this morning).
He's been handling it well today I think

I never got one but I don't really care. It is not like it would make a difference here in California where O will walk to an uncontested double-digit victory.adamsappel said:Guess what finally came today? My Obama magnet! What's wrong with that exactly? It's a standard issue prayer card that's used quite often in Catholicism.Funky Papa said:The McCain campaign is so full of stupid

So what would Obama's plan be?WaltJay said:I think cut is % based and a credit is a deduction based on your income.
Example with totally fake #'s
Tax cut
33% to 30% of your income
Tax credit
$1,000 deductible if you make less than $10,000/year
But that's just my guess!
