I think it's time to amend the Constitution and allow me to become VP, because I was born in Eastern Europe, hence I have more experience with Russia!

Yeah, but the weird thing is that 69% viewed her as conservative (37% very conservative) after just that brief view. That's incredibly high for after just one or two days.

As I said earlier hilarious but you do have to admire how Repbulicans can get in line so quickly with their talking points no matter how ridiculous they may be. They are very disciplined. If I was a reporter I would immediately ask what the hell does that Russia statement mean but they know they won't. This ranks right up there with the use of the phrase "time horizon".

Since virtually everyone was googling Palin on the day of the announcement, the MSM narrative doesn't play a big role. Their first impressions were based on Alaska's journalistic and governmental investigations.

First impressions are hard to erase.

And that poll up above have first impressions saying that they are 31% LESS likely to vote for McCain, and only 6% are MORE likely to vote for him.

there are also reports that the campaign has only now sent staff there to vet her.

I'm not trying to defend the pick, I'm saying that there's a lot of irrationality around the pick on the Dems side. People are making all sorts of wild claims just to see what sticks and I'd put the "desperation pick" claim as part of it.

yeah, that was the first thing I thought of when I started seeing Republican surrogates on TV. They have an amazing ability to stay on message regardless of how inane that message is.

So, she is not a:

Former mayor of a town of less than 8,000 which she left in $20mil debt and with less than 18 months of governor's experience in the smallest state in the nation with a population less than Obama's district, while simultaneously fiercely pro-Life, pro-Creationist, pro-Abstinence-only, and under an investigation for possibly illegally firing someone akin to something from the Bush administration that could get her impeached 5 days before the election?

She's none of that, huh?

both Obama and Biden were either co-sponsors of, voted for or drafted Katrina relief or oversight bills.

Biden was the sponsor of Senate amendment 1661, which was to provide emergency funding to victims of Katrina. The vote failed 41-56, with McCain voting against it.

McCain also voted against not one, not two (this one failed by three votes) but three other Democratic-introduced Senate amendments that would have brought much needed relief to Hurricane victims.

And yes, he voted against a bipartisan oversight commission to study the failings and recommend corrective measures to ensure that the next time will be better.
