Project Zomboid coming to Steam

There is now an entry in the Steam Registry for Project Zomboid;

And official word from Lemmy on the Rock, Paper, Shotgun forums

I should clarify on this since it's now out there. It's not quite as exciting as 'being on Steam', at least not yet, but Valve have done us a massive favour in allowing Project Zomboid to use their servers and auto-updating and whatnot. We won't appear on the store and Steam accounts will only be via redeem codes, so purchases will still be through our site. It's possible we'll pop up on the Store at some point in the future when the game has more content and is more complete, but none of that is for sure at the moment.

Being huge Steam fans ourselves we'd gladly use Steam exclusively, but the fact of the matter is the game is also on Linux, and as such we still need to maintain our own version so Linux users are not left out.

Anyone who has already purchased, or who purchases in the future, will have the option of a Steam key for the game. :)

Really glad to see this happening, after all the trouble they've had so far it's good to see things getting better!

Visit the official site for more information and to pre-order!

I'm glad I won't have to re-purchase it on Steam or anything.

Hopefully this will help resolve the hacking issues that forced them to take the servers down for the time being. I've been wanting to play the game for the last week or so, and I haven't been able to.

Great news for the developers, hope this finish their problems... and also as a player, i really didnt like playing in a browser at all.

You can "buy" it here:

But you wont be able to access the game, until its up on steam i guess...

Meanwhile, you can try the demo:

Hahaha, their way of skipping the tutorial is to kill your wife with a pillow.
I like this game already.

Yeah, that was freaking awesome! The game still need a lot of work, but even with that, you can enjoy it a couple of hours right now.

I fucking love this game already. The atmosphere, the graphics, the gameplay...

The music even! How can you kill Kate! She's hurt, and the music... The music!

I died thanks to the goddamn stove. It almost felt scripted that a horde of zombies came in thanks to the fire. Was that supposed to happen or was it an actual random event?
