PS Portal can now stream loads of PS Plus Premium classic games

wait what? it gives access to a limited selection of the available cloud games? I thought it just unlocks access to all streaming games.
okay, this is a start, but still not what i think it actually should be doing then.

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
This greatly contributed to the sky high price of the PS3.
You realise outside of the US the PS3 price wasn't that much of a bigger jump over the PS2/Xbox.
The US price was just closer but still not equal to what the world was paying for the PS3 and previous consoles.
Neither the PS4 nor the PS5 play CDs so they were never going to be compatible with PS1 discs and there isn't really any incentive for Sony to enable PS1-PS2 BC on the PS4 or PS5 even via software emulation.
To be honest disabling a default function of DVD& Blu-ray drives is a shitty move and using the "its licensing cost" as an excuse is even shitter as it's Sony as they don't need to pay to licence to something they jointly own.

PPSSPP, Duckstation...
these run on any decent phone or tablet that released within the last 5 or 6 years.
How do you play all these emulators?

Whenever I downloaded them on my phone I face terrible interface and they always require some extra files, which I can't find!

This thing really hasn’t been useful to me for travel. My own hotspot I pay for apparently really sucks, and I get weirded out having to sign in to the hotel Wi-Fi through my mobile device (I refuse to do it, just seems too risky) I really wish the device itself could sign on to a network without the extra hoops. So it’s basically a paperweight, since it cannot do anything.

And the experience is shit since its PS3 streaming. You don't see a problem with that? Plus, you said ports/remasters anyways.
Just bought a used slim PS3 for about $60 a couple weeks back. Runs super cool and silent, jailbroke the fuck out of it too and there I was playing through MGS4 again after all these years :)

Emulation is decent on PC, but not all titles yet fully working, I hope in a few years' time we'll be there though.

The additional games are pretty cool, but until I can access my digital library of purchased games via streaming, then I won’t be 100% satisfied with the device. However, it is still a great bit of kit that I use regularly - it just hasn’t hit its full potential for me yet.

Bios files you mean? Have you heard of google?

Just check a 5 min tutorial for whatever emulator you need, on computer (or Steam Deck, etc) is much better than on a phone of course.

Have you tried a travel router? You have all your devices setup to use the WiFi on it. Then when you get to a new place, you have it sign into the hotel WiFi, you normally do this from a phone, or laptop. Once it authenticates, all of devices will just work.

But you can play your digital library of purchased games with Portal.

Only with the PS5 switched on. I mean streaming directly to the Portal.

This thread is actually about the games being added to the list of games you can stream from the cloud once you buy them though. It's a PS+ feature.

Unless you want to use your portal & PS5 at the same time why does it even matter if you're playing your games from your PS5 vs playing them from the cloud?
They are basically the same one is a server in your house & the other is a server in a building lol.

You probably need the BIOS files. Those can be found easily through Google. Games/Roms can be found on Archive . Org

The server in the building isn’t costing me an additional electricity bill.

But you're basically paying Sony's electricity bill when you pay for PS+ Premium to stream your games from their server lol

But back to the beginning this is actually what the thread is about. Games are being added to the list of games you can stream from the cloud that you own.
