It's kinda disingenuous to put all 120hz games in there. These are often 40fps or unlocked 60 (so 65 or about that).
But yeah. It's still good.

I would hope ps5 gives us an option to run 60fps/30fps games in 120hz container for lower lag and better vrr

That's nice I guess, though to me on console the best use of a 120hz panel is still the 40fps mode.

That said I was surprised how after getting used to playing Rocket League at 120fps, going back to 60 actually does feel a bit choppy. I didn't think I was going to notice

Not really, 120 Hz doesn't mean the game is running at a solid 120 fps. Title is misleading at best.

That's stutter or framepacing issues. That's not the ability to discern the difference between 100 and 120fps.

The poster above was replying to a post saying he could notice fluctuations from 90 to 120.
Most people will notice large fluctuations in framerates but yes if your framerates is smoothly moving from 90 to 120 then it's usually imperceptible to most people with VRR active.
