The update was meant to celebrate The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered's recent PC release by adding new content across all platforms, but it appears to have introduced some serious issues as well.

Naughty Dog has acknowledged that The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered's latest patch, 2.0.0, may delete some players' progression. The update explicitly resets Abby's and Ellie's skill trees and can randomly remove some weapon holsters.

• Update 2.0.0 for TLOU Part 2 Remastered is wiping out Abby and Ellie's skills and weapon holsters for some players
• In addition to getting new content and bug fixes, players are reporting crashes and progression loss after installing the patch.
• Players should refrain from starting a New Game Plus run until Naughty Dog provides a fix for the progression-wiping bug.

Never played LOU2, but if character skills and weapon holsters are wiped, is it as simple as just reallocating it back to normal? Or are skills and weapons lost for good?

Subreddit seems to imply they have just gone - loads of posts. I remember this happened a long time ago where a patch wiped out lots of progress for people

Does it break my save if I did update the gamer but only played an encounter? I noticed some cosmetics I had unlocked had to be re-purchased, but only a few. I plan to play some No Return this weekend; no need to touch the campaign. Still sucks tho
