PSVR2 sold 600k, 8% more than PSVR in the same time.

I assume that 3.2% was hololens 2, they are putting a fork in that one, their potential $22 billion dollar deal from the Army turned into an absolute debacle due to combat affecting issues over 5 years, and now it's going out to open bid:

It's getting off-topic, but if Microsoft couldn't provide a sufficient product, and also given the state of XR headsets in general... I don't think anyone else will be able to any quicker.

We'll get there in time (both the military use and consumer XR), but the sector is still very young (even taking into account things like Sony's HMZ-T series and Vuzix).

game developers don't implement multimedia features. psvr2 dev resources come directly from Playstation as a whole.

There are VR multimedia developers like BigscreenVR who can release multimedia PSVR2 apps.

Well the Apache and f35 helmets for example delivers an experience that doesn't overwhelm the operator with nausea like hololens was doing before Army said ok we are done.

If it were that easy, an alternative would already have been found by now.

My suspicion is there is much more random and unpredictable movement for foot based HMD use, especially on rough terrain. Aircraft are in comparison very smooth and head movements relatively predictable.

My theory is it was all a hail Mary to save the Hololens project, once it was clear that the $22 billion dollar deal was just basically wishful thinking, Nadella gave the order to shut it down. Kinect was smoke and mirrors faked nonsense so the idea that the final iteration would work in battle....

It’s a screenshot from statista with no labels. Hard to say what time period that is from?

The article is from March but who knows what data that represents as they just took a screenshot.

He throw us a random vague graph from a source nobody heard of, and expect us to accept it. 🤷🏻

Where are you getting those figures, out of interest?
I just copied them from the other thread: https://www.neogaf.com/threads/righ...ling-console-on-amazon.1676140/post-269696093
Amazon shows those numbers if you search for the product.

Interestingly Amazon doesn't show the numbers for PS5 Pro anymore, just for the other PS5s.

You say that, but recent releases such as Max Mustard and Snow Scout have sold faster on PSVR2 than they did on other platforms.

If VR continues to generate additional game sales outside of the main console, Sony will continue to support it.
Quest owners have more games to choose from and right now many are playing the exclusive game Batman: Arkham Shadow.
Support means making own games and not just ported games. I'm pretty sure Sony is done with VR after this gen unless it's ahuge success on pc.

At it current state VR should focus on Pic only, it allows at ;east modern to convert games into VR, as developers seems mostly uninterested, even Sony is not supporting it PSVR2 on PlayStation that much. It is very niche market and except couple of games propobly most don’t even break even. It is cool tech (had first oculus, HTC Vive pro and Eye, PSVR1) but ultimately it needs another 10-25 years of innovation to gain bigger audience, I don’t believe it will be ever mainstream in its current form.

Quest ecosystem has 20 million users. Just because Sony gave up doesn’t mean anything beyond PSVR2 is not doing well too
