After recent leaks, it looks like Quake has officially been rated on ESRB for PlayStation 5, PS2, Xbox One and Series, Switch, and PC.

I'd absolutely love to see remasters of the first two Quake games that are similar to the Doom remasters from last year, preferably with similar support for mods like Doom and Doom II had. I wonder if we'll get to see much of the game at QuakeCon.

I loved the gothic atmosphere and design of the first Quake and always found the change from demons to aliens in Quake II and 4 to be jarring. Quake II was good but I felt it lacked the moody feel and darkness of the first game and was more generic in terms of design and concept, even for its time.

My guess it's just going to be a source port of the game + 2 expansions with the episode MachineGames did for the 20th anniversary included. The guy that did the Vulkan port of Quake actually works at id Software so.

I never got the feel of quake 1,but quake 2 is among the fps games I grew up with.

Even when better games graphic wise came up, I returned to quake 2.

Heck I even went back to it after quake 3. such a masterpiece.

Quake 2 meant more to me as it was a first experience for me with SO many things. Multiplayer, mods, etc.

Microsofts CFO already said games would show up first or best on xbox. Phil Spencer said legacy titles will still be multiplatform. My guess is Red Fall and starfield will be timed exclusives maybe for a year or 2 before we start to hear rumors swirling of ps5 ports. Phil spencer was recently on an ign podcast and the host asked him if the new elder scrolls will be exclusive, and phils answer was never shown.
