Shoddy upscaling? He must be using medium shadows etc. That DF talked about at 1080p or the bugged denoiser and is confusing it as upscaling.

I know that this game uses the latest and greatest tech and that Obsidian is one of the industry's darlings but I was hoping they'd do a video like this for KCD2 first with John's cool showcases and Alex's PC benchmarks. Shame.
But oh well, I can't feel hyped about this game but at least it gives me hope that if Obsidian ever collaborates with Bethesda again to make another Fallout or TES spinoff then if they're allowed to use a different engine that's not Creation it'll probably be quite better than their previous games technically speaking.

Feel like KCD2 didn't get the Alex review because of politics, otherwise idk why Alex reviewed avowed first.

Right. And, the term, “woke” is such a malleable and near impossible to nail down term to define these days, that I question the integrity, ingenuity, and mental fortitude of anyone who uses it unironically.

The only people who say this are those that want to defend the woke agenda. It's very obvious what is woke and what is not these days. It's not a new concept. Identity politics is what it is and it's been plaguing gaming for years now. I find it disingenuous when someone acts like "woke" is just a term used in bad faith by bad actors. Do we need to analyze why games like Dragon Age Veilguard are woke? Or why including pronouns is woke? Or why dei is? Come on now.

Running well on my 3080. Have FPS capped at my monitor refresh rate (165) and no noticing any stuttering. Have it set to epic using DLSS and it looks great. Almost level 10 at about 8 hours played.

I had a good feeling about forspoken despite negative reviews. It was clear to see that it gets review bombed.
While avowed is clear as day woke crap, looks entirely mid and I am not interested in it in the slightest. And I’ve even bought immortals of aveum.
If anything, it looks like avowed gets some points added from xbox shills.

I’m not, nor want to, “defend” anything, but congrats on the assumption. I’m simply stating that throwing the term, “woke” around blindly is incessantly nonsensical and inane. That’s bad faith.

I personally couldn’t care less, but do very much acknowledge how such can be, and is a problem is modern gaming. But, to rage over the fact that a game includes pronouns, of which you can turn off, is hilarious. In any case, this is a tech and graphics thread, and the fact that it has devolved into… Whatever this is, is even more hilarious.

OT: I’ll likely be playing this in Quality mode on Series X and deal with the 30 fps cap; I want the full suite of graphical features on offer here. I’m curious also to see how far my PC can push the visuals, and if hardware lumen is a feasible option for me.

The dialogue in Immortals of Aveum is pure dogshit.

The combat is somewhat fun. But I can see this game becoming quite repetitive.

The graphics are very good.

Glad I only paid 80 cents for it.

I ultimately bounced off of it after the first few hours or so. The combat couldn’t do enough to hold my interest. Pretty game though.

The guy is just insufferable, he always tries to correct others, he seldomly agrees with others, he's absolutely humorless to the point of coming off as a bot, he's hypocritical - he's everything that the term "double standard" stands for, add to that strong doses gaslighting and...

That's the thing, there's users that get dunked frequently in here with which we may not always agree like Adamsapple, James Sawyer etc but, Adams at the very least has some humour ad can actually take a joke and James, can actually reply like a normal, polite human being when needed - not so with Ozriel though, the guy just doesn't feel "human", what a miserable existence that must be, entering forums and always trying to "AcKtuaLLy" at others, shit, I don't know whether I should laugh or actually feel bad about the guy.

In my 30+ years online career®, he's literally one of the most insufferable people I had the displeasure of encountering, there's just zero discussion to be had with the likes of him, it's like trying to talk to a wall.

The image quality is pretty poor even in quality mode on Series X. There’s prominent artefacts/shimmering/image instability and grain. And a lot of the character models I’ve seen so far are rubbish.
