fun fact,

if you want to spot the differences in side-by-side images like the ones below, all you gotta do is master the "Magic Eye" technique.
if you are able to overlap both images by doing the magic eye, the differences between the 2 images will flicker. it will look like an IRL graphics glitch.

the smaller the image the easier it is to overlap them using magic eye, so zoom out if needed 😉.
the first 2 images down there are really hard to overlap due to lacking standout elements to focus on, but if you're good at magic eye it's possible.

the 3rd one should be easy to do tho.

So cool when it locks in. Same with the 3D versions.

I can watch all kinds of anxiety-inducing or messed up movies. But when it comes to sad movies with dogs I simply cannot do it anymore. I watched Marley & Me once I can't ever go near it again, meanwhile I've seen Bug, Magnolia, Requiem For A Dream & mother! like four times each; and they don't bother me in the slightest.

I recently returned to posting on the internet and was over at ResetEra. If there exists two poles on the internet, the MAGA chuds incels on one side and the other side the actual embodiment of woke snowflakes, many of the mods would be damn near the latter. I hope this place has a better balance when it comes to discourse.

while politics is banned here now it is allowed in some certain situations. otherwise.... just don't be a dick and you're good.

you don't need to walk on eggshells here or pretend you're someone you're not. you're welcome here and there are a great bunch of people here <3

I absolutely can’t stand the rigid, uniform movements of the masked workers in Squid Game

The uniformity of the workers in Squid Game might have been intended to evoke fear or unease, but it doesn’t land for me.

It just feels lifeless and ridiculous

Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
Usually Amazon is pretty good but they did a really stupid thing this morning. They put a big box behind and nearly underneath my neighbor's car. I let my neighbor use my driveway since they have two cars but what possessed that Amazon delivery driver to do such a stupid thing? Lol.

I got this delivery coming in today from Amazon that is acting weird. I think it is coming in on USPS. There is a label for it in USPS, but it is not in the system.

The Amazon site does not say who is delivering it at all.

Seems like Ads are constantly getting more frequent and intrusive. Even here in GAF lately browsing on mobile the popup on every page sometimes now takes up half the page and you have to tap twice to get rid of it.

YouTube seems to play ads every few minutes (even if they are usually skippable) and twitch will decrease the size of the video to show a still ad in the same frame even when they’re not showing the regular ads.

I’m not buying a subscription to every single website I use. The modern internet is disappointing in many ways.

i think i'm getting old or losing my memory. noticed that i have been watching some movies thinking i've never saw them before but i have. the most recent one was Her (2013) that i watched yesterday. I was 100% certain I had never seen it before. Even paid to rent it. I do remember watching a trailer of it so thought oh I'm just remembering scenes from the trailer but nope I realised I must've seen it before. The thing is I can't remember watching it. I have no idea when I watched it....

The only clue I have is that a while back ChatGPT showed off a new demo of whatever the latest new tech they had was. It was when people were saying they copied Scarlett Johansson's voice and that's when I saw people talking about the movie. It seems this happened around May last year. So not even a full year ago.... so 6-7 months ago? and I can't even remember watching the movie?

Unless I didn't watch it and I am remembering scenes from trailers and got a serious case of deja vu?

This isn't the first movie that it's happened with. I've watched 1 or 2 other movies "recently" where I thought I had never seen it but realise I must've seen it before.

I had this with a couple of TV shows too. I watched like 8 episodes of some season of Jack Ryan only on the LAST EPISODE to finally notice "wait, I've seen all of these 7 hours before already". Other examples include that Stalone show where he's a mobster, Slow Horses and a couple of others I probably forgotten. I have a good excuse though, I was mostly really hungover when watching these and just "binged them away".

I cope by telling myself that my memory isn't bad, it's "selective". I can remember other shit just fine, so obviously the problem can't be my brain (or the drinking), right?! Surely this will be just... fine.

Anyway, the reason for me posting: I'm watching some idol variety content, they're playing some game where they have to guess certain names, and at one point one of them frantically/joyfully shouts my name, even with added honorific :D Too bad boot up screens aren't really a thing anymore, this would be perfect for that. Maybe I'll set up firefox notifications with GAF and add that as a sound.

My head is in terrible f****** pain right now, has been all night. Felt like my eye balls were trying to pop out of their sockets. Tried to tell my wife I think the cancer is spreading over to the other side of my brain. She said it's probably the new pillow I got causing neck pain.

been watching a lot of youtube videos of some guy jumping in bins to find stuff to sell/donate. thought it was funny at first but i admire this guy. it makes me angry and happy at the same time. fuck these companies that throw so much shit out when it could go to those in need. but oh no it's cheaper to just throw shit out into incineration or landfill than resell/donate it! and it makes me happy because there are guys that do shit like this and give it charities/homeless shelters.

Been having such good sleeps the last few nights. Lots of vivid dreams I can clearly remember too!

I’ve been going to bed a bit earlier and doing some breathing exercises while relaxing my body from bottom to top. I’d do like maybe 5 deep breaths just to slow down my breathing and heart rate. Then keep doing it while I tense up my toes. So inhale/tense, hold, exhale/relax. Do it for my legs, shoulders, hands, neck, jaw, forehead. After that I’d do more deep breaths and just feel my body getting heavier and more relaxed.

Once my body is relaxed then clear my mind or focus on something. Counting to 10, focus on my breathing, or repeating a word/phrase. It makes me so relaxed I’ll fall asleep real quick.

The reason I’ve been doing this is because my tinnitus has been really bad and I was struggling to fall asleep. I only have it in one ear but it kinda “flares up”. It’s always there but becomes more noticeable at times.

The other night I slept for about 10 and a half hours, had 3 intense dreams, and my heart rate dropped to 52.

I still remember one dream. I was skateboarding along beside a river in a huge city with skyscrapers. I went down a ramp and the wheels on my board were so stiff my board stopped moving on the ramp. I saw a vending machine selling spare skateboard parts so I wanted to buy new wheels but the machine wasn’t working. So I decided to go home. Beside the river there was a huge “sea wall” that protected the city. Going up the wall was this metal stair case (with metal bars at the sides and above it. It was so small I had to squeeze through the door and kinda walk sideways up. It was a long walk and the exit was a small hole that I had to throw my board out and then put my hands out first to pull myself through.

Once I got out there was an elevator that took me down. It was a kind of park it went down to. I walked through a tunnel into a busy shopping area and went to the train station. I met some of my friends there and one was going to see a movie and asked me if I wanted to go but I said no I just want to go home. So went to get the train but got on the wrong one. I had to get off at the first stop and head back. At the train station it was so busy and I remember trying to read signs to see what train I need to get back I couldn’t read any of the writing.

And that was it lol.

Keep pursuing your dreams y'all. Keep taking actions in life that move you towards your goals.

Society seems to place a lot of value on people who find success early in life, the child prodigies, etc… but the person who’s a late bloomer or had to work hard for many years to finally achieve success should be celebrated just as much imho.

Honestly if the AI thing keeps evolving at this rate I can see myself losing my developer job to it in a year or two. The last 10 years of my life would go out the window and I'd go from rockstar to useless moron in an instant.

The thought of doing an hero comes to mind, and I wonder how many people might be in a similar situation and how they are coping with it.

i'm not in a skilled job but i think AI could take my job. i doubt they will ever spend that much money improving the tech we use lol. maybe at the higher end. i'm still doing a lot of shit on paper because can't even afford a bloody ipad. that's for the higher ups who earn way more money than me. my specific job role didn't even exist for the first 7 years i worked there because they couldn't afford it. before taking on the job i knew that it was a possibility that some point down the road they might scrap it to save money and go back to the way it used to be. i'll ride it while i can :D and if i ever get shit canned then at least it's been a bit more experience so i might be able to get a similar job somewhere else. the job i had before can definitely be replaced by AI and to some extent already has. that was one reason I knew I had to start "Moving up the ladder" although I'm currently only on the first step so to speak....

i wanted to get into coding to develop games/websites but i'm glad i'm too stupid for it and didn't go to college/university to do it.

right now i'm not worrying too much about AI taking jobs but i know it has already done so and as it improves it will take more. I'll deal with that when it comes....if it ever does.

Blake lively and Justin baldoni needed to just fuck off. I'm so sick of seeing this stupid nothing burger story.

Next we have to listen to Mandy Moore cry about raising gofundme money. Fuck you. You shouldn't be on gofundme.

I'm having some music/performances playing in the background and I just noticed, the one I'm currently watching is from 2008. Which, at this point, is almost TWENTY YEARS AGO. Let that sink in for a moment. TWENTY. YEARS. And it's not like I'm seeing this for the first time, this is the very shit I've been watching for the last twenty years (praise be).

I usually hate these type of posts (dae think OoT just came out last winter???), but it's just insanity for me to think about how different the world is now. Not only in terms of the last 50 years or so, but in terms of like the last 300 or whatever years. When people in the 90s talked about stuff that was "20 years back" that always sounded like ancient history - not just because I was a kid, but also because they had to recollect most of it from their memories, and obviously this was how it always has been.

Now I have fucking HD fancams from three different angles each trying to capture a brief upskirt view of some korean idol from TWENTY YEARS AGO. I wish there was a point or a punchline or something to this thought, but I guess this is why it's called "Random Thoughts".

You've inspired me to finish at least one of the novels I've been working on as a hobby and see if I can get them published. I might fail. I might get laughed at, but at least I tried.

Use case for AI:

You're on your way to work, you rely on the train. You snap a picture of the platform, making sure to get the time and date in frame, ask for AI to insert an out of order notice and some work men on the platform.

And just like that, you've got the day off.
