I am so glad this is a good port and we can focus on making the game look fucking amazing instead of fixing issues.

I agree. One thing I would like to see is proper shading in grass and vegetation. Hopefully the modder can add it, and maybe add even more density of grass.

But this version of the mod already makes a huge difference honestly. Totally worth it

Man I love this game

As much as I love RD1 I have to say, no.

Seeing Saint Denis at night on ultra settings is something else. The lighting is on a different level

Infact, the whole game is

Did you play RDR 2 on PC?
Yeah I did - though I've never finished it. I normally like higher quality graphics but for some reason I prefer the look of RD1 - don't know if it's the colours or the textures or what. Interestingly I have the same issue with GTA - I prefer the look of GTA4 to GTA5.

No I get that, some old games do have a better aesthetic, I prefer quite a few older games to newer looking ones, God of War, quite a few 16 bit games (They never nail the aesthetic in new '16 bit' looking games) etc

I just always owned all 3 consoles alongside my PC, I don't get this waiting 14 years to play one of the best games ever made. Nowadays you don't even need an Xbox it you have a PC outside a handful of titles.

Like it you had the money for a PC why wouldn't you be able to buy a preowned PS or Xbox? Please help me understand,

For some it's pride/bias (PC=big balls, consoles=toys) but also just not being passionate abut games enough to carry too many physical items, want just one hardware with the most software and if anything misses it, oh well. You might also be averse to growing a library in a platform that commits you to being attached to extra hardware or else lose it.

Alright more mods have started to be released. Here's my current list.

Texture and Graphical Upgrades
Quality of Life
Gameplay Tweaks
I'm using Ultimate ASI Loader to load the modified files without altering the base game files.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Reality redemption is a game changer. I encourage everyone to install it. The textures alone make a huge difference

Would Rockstar have released the game looking like this I might have spent those 50 bucks no problem.

Thanks to you and the others who brought this mod to attention. Once that to-do list is done I'll be jumping in.

Does this require rockstar launcher and account to play like GTA Trilogy cause that's a deal breaker for me

The launcher is mandatory

I don't mind their launcher, it's not that intrusive and (I think) it closes automatically when you quit the game.

so it was a bad game all round then from a tech perspective, i only know the PC version and it wasn't good.
Sorry for taking so long to reply.

I found this video that shows GTA4 running on old (period correct) PC.

8800GTS at 1080p medium settings around 38-52fps. At 900p 42-65fps. Bear in mind that the x360 version runs at 720p (PS3 sub720p) on low settings at 30fps (with frequent dips to 20-25fps).

My 8800Ultra 768MB had more VRAM than the 8800GTS 512MB, so my performance was even better in this game because GTA4 required a lot of VRAM.

IMO GTA4 ran well on PC (much better compared to consoles) if you were willing to tweak the settings.
