No worries. Hope shes feeling better.Hey guys, apologies for the late OT. I've got the OT finished like a week ago already but didn't want to put it up so early. Unfortunately my girlfriend got sick and has some problems so I've been at her place these last days. I just could get home a couple hours ago and retrieve the files from my PC to upload.
Anyway, hope you like it and enjoy the game.
The RE2 Remake team isn't exactly know for smart game design. The RE3 Remake team are more capable but people complained about them. Sadly. It's impossible NOT to be nitpicky about this, considering it's a remake of one of the best games of all time (it's still in my top 3) but: I just reached the castle, and... I don't love it.
It's obviously a fantastic game that's a lot of fun to play, but every change I've encountered, both big and small, came across as unnecessary or annoying, and I'm quite sure that's not just because I'm an old fart who doesn't like change.
If anything, the changes have made me realise how well everything was balanced towards player agency and fun in the original game, as most of the changes in the remake just feel... immediately less fun. They feel like they were done merely to be different, without having thought about how they upend the delicate balance of it all. Like, cool, you can walk and shoot now, but they've made all the enemies more aggressive to compensate. So in order to compensate for that, they've allowed parries. Awesome, but they're pretty OP, so they made the knife breakable so you don't go Sekiro on everyone's. But because a broken knife sucks, they've also included kitchen knives (!?!?!) so that we can still have the parry even when our main knife is broken. Etc.
Like, the core of Resi 4 is still here, but despite this remake's grandeur and graphical fidelity it's definitely a worse game than the original, design wise.

The RE3 Remake team is made of ex Clover and Platinum devs. They understand better about gameplay mechanics. You could reel in Del Lago with that bait, brother.
What have they done for me lately? The RE3 Remake team is made of ex Clover and Platinum devs. They understand better about gameplay mechanics.
Nothing because Capcom threw them into the background. What have they done for me lately?
The direct sequel to a 90+ game in a beloved series doesn't sound like the background to me.Nothing because Capcom threw them into the background.
Judging by what we got in RE3make, I wouldn't call them more capable. The RE2/4make team runs circles around them. I don't think RE is their sandbox. The RE2 Remake team isn't exactly know for smart game design. The RE3 Remake team are more capable but people complained about them. Sadly.
.Pennywise is still a heel for making that "aged like milk" thread, but you can't deny that his threads are a draw. I nominate him to make the RE4make OP, whatever title it ends up having.
I'm roughly halfway through the castle. I'm loving the game but it's not at the level I was expecting from a couple of reviews I watched. Mostly with regards to snark and one liners. Leon's dialogue just isn't as charmingly goofy (though he and Ashley have some nice moments). Maybe it starts to go off the rails in the back half of the game.
That's downright ballisticI spent a good 30 minutes at the Shooting Gallery, but I didn't start sweating til I turned around and saw this:
With KB+M I actually feel way more agile, especially considering you can walk while aimingIs it just me or does this game feel… slower than the original.
Leon feels slower. Battles are slower. Stealth kills and backtracking to kill rats etc.
It definitely feels like RE4 using the RE engine like 2 and 3 Remakes
What is the logic in allowing us to store some gear at the typewriter and not others? I seem to be able to put guns and first aid sprays, but nothing else? Inventory space is tight as it is, and if they’re going to now include resources (gunpowder/parts) that clutter up my space, including things like vipers that don’t stack yet aren’t pertinent to immediate battle but only to quests, it seems odd they’d be so restrictive. There’s no logic or pro/con to this preclusion, it’s just a hassle, and renders it far less useful an addition than it otherwise may have been.
I only got regular edition and the handgun ammo charm and gold attaché case as pre-order bonus, the code was on my receipt.Has anyone figured out how to get these? I couldn't find a code in my collectors edition box.
I preordered from Gamestop online when the CEs went up and never got an email with this code. Guess I'll have to call.I only got regular edition and the handgun ammo charm and gold attaché case as pre-order bonus, the code was on my receipt.
Go to a typewriter in game and there is an option to customize.Has anyone figured out how to get these? I couldn't find a code in my collectors edition box.
I bet someone will make a merchant original voice mod using AI.
Weapons will be at the storage at a typewriter and the costumes will be at the extra menu when you click continue from the start menuI just bought the DLC pack, anyone know where I access the weapons and skins? I'm on chapter 3.
Thank you!Weapons will be at the storage at a typewriter and the costumes will be at the extra menu when you click continue from the start menu
