Resident Evil 5 is ESRB rated for Xbox Series, suggesting possible current-gen re-release

RE4 and 5 control the exact same way.
Not quite. In RE4 you aim with the left stick which is a little odd and when not in aim mode, you don't have traditional camera control with the right stick. Re5 on the other hand while very similar in its core gameplay, has controls that feel more modern with right stick camera movement and aiming.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
RE5 is dogshit.

Swtch got that same updated version as well.
Right but it’s stuck at 30fps. PC is still using the old GFWL version, which still has some problems.

Not sure what the hook will be for PS5 and Series owners to upgrade.

They know people will buy it anyway, so why not?
Plus 4K resolution, Switch 2 having a better looking version of the game versus PS5 and Xbox is just a no no.

I used to fucking love RE5, was my first game along Dead Space on Xbox 360, with upgrading my CRT TV to my first ever LCD and wow was amazing experience, not sure how much i would want it again nowadays.. also i think i remember you could not move and shoot in RE5, and that's why Dead Space felt so refreshing back then, so the upcoming if true remaster/remake will have to change that.

Not really following the logic since the upgrade seems redundant, but it wouldn't be the first. Hopefully it has something more meaningful than a simple resolution bump.

It won't, but ideally you want all versions to be equal.

4K/60 with the very meager possibility of converting the games to RE engine and adding RT over SSR effects.

So they doing a RE5 Remake after all? Boy, that's gonna be good if it remains true to the original. I do hope they do MASSIVE rewriting on this one.

I dunno if they had the ball to stand up against all these "racism" screechers. I'm mean, it's Africa after all.
If they do though, I would totally support them. I like they are moving away from the too focus action and corny cheese movie theatrics and are more focused on the real survivor horror survival. RE5 is pretty damn bad, if theres a game that desperatly needs to be remade is RE5 and 6. RE6 is absolute putrit garbage.

They are all rated it seems. I guess they want to re-release these yet again. The PS4 apps look fine as is though. But I can see them adding haptics and perhaps some other excuses to offer it again.

RE5 is better though.

I played Dead Space Remake and eventually put it away about 2 chapters before the end. I found it boring and repetitive. RE5 on the other hand strictly single player speaking is a bad RE game, with a backdrop that doesn't resonate well (daylight, ancient tombs etc). But its very fun to play in co-op, or tackle some Mercs. Weapons and melee feel much better than in DS too. There is more to come back to in RE5.

Remarkable game, I think people are starting to appreciate it more as time goes on.
Sorta true. It has flaws but it's not nearly as bad as people make it out to be.

RE6 on the hand is shit. I don't care how many people say "well akshually the mechanics are amazing and blah blah blah." That game was a bloated piece of shit.

If they actually remaster or remake the game, i really hope they expand Mercenaries mode, unlock the enemy count, killing 150 enemies in a single streak is so hype but it gets old after a few years. Let me customize a loadout, choose enemy spawns, increase the timer/remove it entirely. They could do so much with Mercenaries.
It baffles me that Capcom don't make Mercs a stand alone downloadable game with dlc and battle pass shite they clearly are desperate to cash in on.

This is correct. By default you had more modern implementation of the button mapping and control of the camera with the right stick. I switch it back to RE4 controls though cos I'm a psycho. :)

RE6>RE5

RE5 is just RE4 but bad. it took game mechanics designed for a single player game with relatively slow pacing, and crammed it into coop shooter.

I think you could only play her campaign for last.
her campaign was a conclusion of the story and call back to RE4, it only unlocked after finishing the other 3, and it wasn't available in coop.
It makes little sense to play it before the other three, but I believe capcom had feedback on how people didn't like they couldn't play it with their friends, so instead of sticking to the intention of the ada chapter, they caved and had it unlocked from the start and patched it some nameless character as a coop partner; then people who played the game for the first time and picked ada first complained they had no idea what was going on or what they were doing 🤷‍♂️

That actually explains why that co-op experience is so ham-fisted.

Tbh, i would probably not revaluate the game that much even if her campaign was the first one.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
I'd buy another remaster, if it's actually better than the PC version this time. And they don't censor it which.... with modern Capcom, is a bit of a wild card.

RE5 got a lot of flack back when it first came out, but I've always really loved the game. The moment to moment gameplay is fantastic, and I've always liked the aesthetic.

You can completely ignore the coop and sheva act like the remaining 99,99% of retarded compnion ai you have in every game with companion ai.

The game wasn't even hard because of that, space marine 2 is a much , much worse example of single player game tuned for coop, at least at launch before the patching, i never screamed at the screen because of sheva being dumb.

She had her moments but they were few and far between. The most obvious example off the top of my head is the conveyor belt section near the end.
I remember being more mad because she waste ammo or doesn't use the melee weapons, one of the 2, can't remember.

Had skipped 5 & 6 due to the lukewarm to negative reception. If this isn't a remake with significant changes, I might skip these again. Really hoping this isn't just a remaster as I've loved every RE game, including remakes, that capcom has released since RE7.

When i reached the ada campaign i was so utterly disgusted by the game that i played for like 20 min before bailing out.

In the original release, yes. In later releases you could play her first.

Leon covers like 80% of the story. The rest of the game just fill in some blanks or things you already know happened. Its the worst RE game by a mile. The mechanics are fun to play around with but the levels and set pieces aren't built around them at all. You're better off sticking to mercs.

The cardinal sin is that she can die and waste your ammo/heals/pickups. They fixed this in 6 in which the co-op partner can't die save for a few insta kill scenes. And you never have to manage its inventory.

Generally though, I just give Sheva SMG and Sniper. She picks off far away mobs with pin point precision, even when you are steering a boat. Aside from that the game would be better off with a solo mode. You don't really need her as you probably account for 90% of the kills anyway and you'd keep more ammo and herbs.

True. You can still find some online matches in RE5 mercs. Instead of wasting all those resources on shit like Re:Verse and RE: Resistance, they could just cut Mercs off of RE5, modernize the controls a bit and sell DLC characters, costumes and stages.

I think they should use resi 6 Mercs as a base. DLC characters, battle pass shite, and new maps from throughout the whole series added as time goes on.
