Resident Evil 5 recently received a new ESRB rating for the Xbox Series X and S, sparking rumors that Capcom might be planning to release an upgraded version of the game for current-generation consoles. This rating follows a similar one for Resident Evil 6, further fueling speculation. While Capcom hasn’t officially confirmed any plans, its history of updating older Resident Evil games for modern hardware suggests this could be a possibility.
This new rating is similar to the recent one given for Resident Evil 6 on Xbox Series consoles. However, Capcom has not yet made an official announcement.
Resident Evil 5 and 6 currently run at 60 FPS on consoles. The upcoming upgrade may include an enhancement to 4K resolution and possibly support for 120 FPS on current-generation consoles, although nothing has been confirmed at this time.
