For anyone playing the game on pc, apparently there is a bug with Anisotropic filtering and if you turn it off you'll gain more than 40 fps

I dont have the game but try this for yourself and see if it works

I went from zero to 8x and only lost 2 fps.

Finally swapped DLSS 3 to DLSS 4...
It makes a great difference. No shimering nor aliasing, the game is finally beautiful and runs great on 4K ultra settings DLSS Ultra Perf, the image quality is really great and textures (when they're loaded lol) are sharp as hell.
Capping the game at 60 fps on a 3080 12gb, it's running flawlessly. Rare dips in the 55-50 fps but never below.
Feels really smooth and beautiful and artstyle finally shines with DLSS4.

So what do you guys think, this or Ghost of Sushi?
I was looking over a bunch of reviews, Sushi has nicer production values but is simpler. Ronin has OK everything but top notch combat.
I'm very much into combat, don't care for "cinematic" games, but sometimes they are done well. I am just afraid of anything Sony these days because of how many slow walking sections there are and their studios pretending they are writing blockbuster hollywood scripts or something.

Thanks! This post got me to finally DL the swapper. Not only is it super clean now, I gained 15-25 fps depending on the area and what I am doing. You're right about making the art style shine. Good description cause I couldn't think of how to describe it.

That's a tough one! Right now, I'd give the edge to GoT only because I beat it, and I love the way it looks. I'm only ~12 hours into this one and it's still close. Combat is definitely better in the Team Ninja game so if that is more of a factor for you. They are so different even though they don't seem to be. Don't miss either game!

There is something really funky going on with this game. I’ve been playing around with settings and something is not right and I want to see if anyone else can replicate this.

If you set the cap at 60 fps. Turn on DLSS and then turn on frame gen, the game behaves exactly like you’d expect, you get the extra frames but you get the added latency as well, and it feels terrible in this game. That’s why I’ve been playing at just 60 fps capped with no frame gen this entire time, it just feels better.

However, if you enable frame gen as FSR3 while using DLSS you get even more frames but not the added latency, in fact it pegged my fps at 120 and feels like a natural 120 and not frame gen at all.

All I know is I hate frame gen but I played 4 hours today with it running FSR and it was an excellent experience.

I will be stuck with my Steam Deck for a couple more weeks so I can't try it out currently. :messenger_loudly_crying:

Are you people enjoying it? Is the combat good enough to carry the game through the Ubisoft-tier open world?

Do you have Reflex forced to disabled in nvidia control panel?

I generally keep it off, but either way doesn't seem to matter. The in-game Reflex will overwrite it anyway. Maybe it's just because it's a Playstation game and FSR is just that much better in this instance, I don't know, but it's just weird I'm getting almost double the latency with DLSS vs FSR framegen.

The combat is the best part. I played the crap out of this on PS5 and am going through it all again on PC specifically because of the combat. I will say, the more allergic to Ubisoft open world game design, the less time you should spend doing side stuff. There are three rather large maps, with multiple "zones" in each, just like the last few AC games, and it can burn you out if you try and 100% every area. The combat is the main attraction, for sure.

Game got a patch and a hotfix and ironically enough it runs like complete dogshit now.

It ran perfectly for me, buttery smooth but now it runs in slow-motion. I changed none of the settings.

When I cap the fps at 30 (wtf) I think DLSS still tries to boost the frames so the fps is higher than 30 but this is still not at stable 60. When I cap the fps at 60 (like I had before the patch) the game literally moves in slow motion.

This is a mess.

Game is great, but I really enjoyed it on PS5 as well. Excellent combat, good loot system, great customization options, there's always something to do.

The whole reason I double-dipped this fucking thing is the improved fps on PC, but they completely botched it. I have a 4070 and even on DLSS Ultra Performance the thing doesn't hit 60 at the moment. Ran perfectly fine just two days ago.

Insanely bad and I wouldn't recommend anyone picking this up at the moment until they sort this shit out.

is it any tedious like AC games ? (which is also kinda how ghost of tsushima looks to me but I've not played it).
I have the pro, so I would pick it up on that

man, games are so expensive now. It makes me sad. Gone are the days I could afford to play a new game every month. Now I have to calculate well in advance which games to buy and can't afford them at launch.

I supposed to scratch the itch I can buy this pre-owned on PS5, or I can buy Ghost of Tsushima directors cut on sale. I didn't play either of those games... I really need to device which is the best option.

Is GoT the overall better game? I assume so given all the awards. I would love to buy both but I camt afford to do it

I enjoyed both games equally, but Ghost of Tsushima is the safer bet. The game does pretty much everything well. Level design, combat, art direction, and cinematics are all good to very good. Ronin has a more addicting gameplay loop, but suffers bad performance issues and mediocre graphics

I started this the other day, and I actually really enjoy it. I waited a while to play it because I was finishing up other stuff, so maybe they patched it but performance has been great for me. Forced DLSS4 and it runs great at 4k/120ish. The combat is great. Very similar to Nioh and it reused a lot of those animations, but that’s ok because Nioh is awesome. Even has the ki charge but it’s not as important here. The leveling system is kind of confusing tho.

Its a solid game with an incredible combat. For me the issues was that the story is weak and it doesn't help either that the main character is mute. But from a gameplay perspective the game is a blast
