Difference in writing and themes with the first RDR is night and day. The entire cringe and out of place Sadie Adler cartoon, all the random "he's the best of us all, we're luckly to have him" Lenny asslicking, just some of the stuff you would never in a million years find in the original game. You can feel the interference in the sequel from miles away.

I've spend literal thousands of hours in it, and I love it, but you would have to be literally blind to not feel the colossal difference from previous R* work.

Well considering that the term "woke" has no specific definition, it means a lot of things to a lot of people. Through some lenses, GTA V and RDR2 has "woke" subtext, through other lenses, it doesn't.

Yes, the amount of influence it has over the final product remains to be seen. Half of the protags being a white dude doesn't guarantee that "the message" wont be in full force. But like I said, it remains to be seen, we don't know yet. Nonetheless a healthy dose of skepticism is warranted.

Came here to post this. The difference in wokeness between RDR and RDR2 is staggering. I will always prefer RDR for many reasons and this is one of them.

cherish them, because it seems its all we have left. Yes Rockstar is definitely a left leaning company, but i never got the feel that they are at the same level of insanity like modern day Bioware or Obsidian.

GTA 6 features a female protag, but it doesn't feel forced, or woke by any stretch.

Almost no whites in the trailer, plenty of women and none has big tits, female poc protagonist has more masculine active leading role. The guy is weak, follows her. Is the feminine one in the couple.
It could be a coincidence, but the color around the logo is purple, which is a mix of red and blue and is like a signal of woke gender virtue signaling...

New Vegas was one of the best games of all times and have queer elements if one so choose to so it was perfectly fine. And lots of people even liked Veronica and Arcade even if they were queers because they were simply awesome characters in a awesome game unlike the disgusting shitty Taash from Veilguard. Plenty of awesome shows and games with awesome queer characters like Gay Tony, Puri Puri, Griffon, Driller Killer, Veronica, Kaine, etc from shows and games that aren't woke at all.
