I just rewatched some old videos about Monolith Soft. The reason they made Monolith Soft was that they wanted to make new IPs, not just sequels. Hopefully, they get back to it

I don't know how the sales after DLC, but Xenoblade 3 sales are 1.86 million copies as of March 31st, 2023.

Here's a comparison I found

Hasn’t sold poorly at all, but there’s fatigue with the series growing. They need to make consumers miss the series a bit.

Still, I’m excited at what Xenoblade could be on Nintendo’s new console with the additional RAM and CPU speed.

Yeah, it's that.

It's been in development since 2017 and was described by Monolith themselves on their official site as "an ambitious project targeting a global audience". It's also the project they've been recruiting action specialists for, so the gameplay will likely be more hack n slash than offline MMO like Xenoblade. I can see it being a huge game for Nintendo, replacing 3D Zelda as the big singleplayer game for experienced players in the Switch 2's launch window.

If true, I’m really excited to see them try action.

Imagine a good action game but with their S tier world building. HOLYYYY shit

I recall in a fairly recent interview Takahashi said something about the Xenoblade "Chronicles" story being complete but the Xenoblade series will continue maybe in another universe.

Klaus saga is finished, so there is possibility that next Xeno game might not even be called Xenoblade.

I'm sure he said that the Chronicles storyline was finished, and that the next entry would be a totally new universe or something like that, Either way I'm looking forward to their next Xeno game they are imo the industry leaders in RPG worlds and can't wait to see what they will pull off on better hardware.
