I'm sure they exist.....somewhere. They just don't like to play games. The game was built for modern audiences... which don't exist.
That includes marketing, and AAA games typically have marketing budgets equaling the development budget.I really don't understand how a video game costs a nine figure sum to make. That's an insane cost.
Nah the later ones are crazy dumb fun. Even the last one had potential, the opening is dumb and fun but then you meet the rest of the cast.Man I still remember downloading the original Saints Row demo on the Xbox 360. It was a time people were real thirsty for the next GTA. Other than that, never been into them. Later ones looked daft and even though I got some for free I never bothered to play them.
There is no audience then....I'm sure they exist.....somewhere. They just don't like to play games.
There is no audience then....
Sure, but that scope and quality if put through a Saints Row lens would have made a game that people would have bought via word of mouth. I bet LTD Sleeping Dogs did great. Just not in the window Squeenix was expecting/hoping. The point is, it's completely possible to make a solid AAA game with half the budget these kids are blowing.Bad example, that became beloved AFTER it was already considered a sales failure and the studio was time on a mmorpg version before being shut down.
Though Square Enix is largely to blame a lot of "gamers" at the time wrote the game off for being a "GTA Clone" and saying it looked cheap, etc.
This is such a pure example of the swagger culture used to have only to be replaced by the watered down, lame bullshit of today, what the actual hell happened to society?"They didn't know what they were building. They didn't have any real direction. It couldn't last"
No shits, the characters in the 2022 game surely look like the one that would have been bullied by the OG characters.

What? Space Marines 2 was in the works long before Saber was sold.He bought his own studio back from Embracer and greenlit Space Marine 2.
Yuuuuuup, this is when they essentially killed off their fanbase, even the ones that were willing to give the new game a chance. They're a great example of how you shouldn't turn your back to your fans and fanbase. The whole too expensive thing is just a huge excuse, lol.The studio told the fans of the series to fuck off and didn't find any "modern audience" to buy their game. Its closure is actually a good example of the world healing.

I'm honestly impressed in a way. They built a specific dedicated fanbase only to tell them to buzz off and imply they weren't wanted. That's the last thing you want to do as a business. Talk about hubris. Its something many current day game development employees could learn a thing or two from. The studio told the fans of the series to fuck off and didn't find any "modern audience" to buy their game. Its closure is actually a good example of the world healing.
They so should of just stuck to remastering that. They would be damn heroes by now.Saint row 2 is is in GOAT category, for the radio stations alone
