It sounds more like the structure for a deal was talked about but nothing was agreed upon including the wall. Could lead to daca being saved and no wall or it could lead to nothing. Hard to tell with Trump anyway. He could change his mind in a day and the whole thing could be off.

If it works out, I'd imagine the real scenario is Trump wants a victory and praise. If he finds working with dems and moderate republicans is more productive than having Ryan and McConell whip up all the factions of the Republican Party, he's probably going to keep doing that cause he wants praise.
