As a side note I'm dumping all my skill points for my main character into Agility.
No idea if this will turn out to be a stupid or smart idea

Dont put all your points toward agility alone, you either want focus physical attacks or spells.

If you are going focus on physical attacks then you better off putting most of your points toward both STR and Luck (which gives more chance do critical).

I'll probably dump more into Strength. Are there any attacks that are based on Agility?

No most skills either scale with STR or MG. Agility will increase chance to dodge attacks but its not reliable without buffing yourself during the battle.

Dont worry you eventually get item called "New Testament Tablets" which let you respec your states, basically works same way as Lava Tears in Elden Ring.

I'm not big on JRPGs, and couldn't finish Persona 4 or 5... but I was browsing the store and noticed this game had a demo. Decided what the heck, and gave it a shot.

I'm actually really enjoying this!

The biggest surprise has been how smooth and quick everything feels. I've tried many JRPGs and one of the biggest complaints is how clunky they are in their gameplay, dialogue, menus, etc. Not the case with this game. Menus are snappy, the world is easy to move around in, and you can go into and out of combat very quickly.

Played it for 4 hours straight and I'm thinking of grabbing the physical version that's on sale for $39 on Amazon.

I'd say the first hours of the game are pretty representative for the whole experience, so if you're into it already I think you're good to go! The game is definitely more gameplay and less story, so it never gets much in the way of battling demons and building a party. There might not be going on much with the characters, but the themes and philosophical elements of the story is where it gets interesting in my opinion.

I don't think you can screw yourself over with your skill points, but you might want to focus on at least one other attribute in the long run :messenger_winking:

I noticed the Custom ones are the same level, but have extra skills. What exactly are the custom entries and why do some demons have customs while others don't?

Whenever you create a demon for the first time, they're registered automatically. You can and should however manually register demons that you like in the World of Shadows as you can resummon them if the need arises, albeit at a much steeper price for a Custom as opposed to a cheaper Original.

Some demons don't have custom entries because you haven't created them via fusion or manually registered them. You won them over in demon negotiation so only the Original entry was prepared.

(Been a few months since I played but I think that's all right)

Original are demons in their "stock" or normal form.
Level/Skills etc. are without any extras.


Custom ones are the ones you have registered / saved or got with your fusion, if the have earned any XP or skills.

For example:
Pixie is a level 2 demon.
You can "catch" her, try to fuse her or if you had her already, she will be at least registered in the Original category.
If you level up with her and learn new skills etc. it is up to you, if you want to register/save the current state in the compendium.
You always have the original one and can only save 1 custom one.

Good use cases: If you need your main demon in a fusion, just register them before.
You can use it in a fusion and get it back immediately through the compendium.
