I never know if this is good or not...

These companies have such high expectations, that this number is not uncommon to be considered a failure.
I mean this is official PR from Konami & Bloober Team, so if they're happy sharing the sales numbers publicly, it probably must have met their internal sales expectations.

Btw, the previous sales milestone was 1 million units shortly after launch, and it has sold another million since then, which means it has great word of mouth.

One of the best games I've played. The whole package - the sound, the acting and performances, the visuals... It's incredible.

I knew from day one Bloober were the fellas for the job, hope they move on to 1 and then 3 next.

I just hope Bloober doesn’t end up making some stupid original silent hill title thats like the medium. if they end up doing an original title they need to work with yamaoka and ito heavily

Yep, it deserves more. It is my current favorite game in the genre. We'll see if Capcom can take the crown back with RE9 but I doubt it with how over the top those games get. I liked how this one was more grounded with no super giant bosses and anime flips.

Amazing game, really. And looks incredible too.

They should fix that Pro version, it's only half fixed right now. Such simple thing to do yet they want to be criticized for weeks/months...

It seems like it performed slightly better than the OG, which was considered an underperformer. These numbers are not really impressive anyway; I find them puzzling:

I was thinking that the reputation the original game gathered over the years would make the remake more popular. Also, it is a very "Sony-like" type of game, and one could have thought that the medium and audience have become more mature, older too, making SH more appealing.

I wonder if the game needed even higher production values (animations at the level of Naughty Dog's for example), less drama in its marketing and stronger marketing overall.

I really hope it continues to sell more and more. It was an outstanding game, and honestly and outstanding remake. I hoped that Bloober would pull off some magic with the game, and they most certainly did. Praise it.

I really can't wait to see what comes next. I really hope we get Silent Hill first, and then 3.

Impressive results.

But I'm personally disappointed in PC sales. It was a day-and-date release of a beloved franchise's long-awaited return. They still didn't buy it.

Would have been great had the PC community also supported the game better. Would have been around 3.5 to 4 million copies by now.

Vast majority of sales on Sony's machine guaranteed. Once again, PS5 owners saving the industry by buying full priced single player games on release.

Don't fight it. Don't deny it. You know it to be true. Thank us.

Everybody wants us to swap to PC gaming but nobody wants to live in an industry full of PC only gamers.

PC version sales are lower than expected but I suspect it will have longer legs on that platform. Since the quality of the game is high I wouldn't be surprised if they almost even out overtime.

Deserves more but after the lack of quality from Konami games 2m is very good.

Hope this means Konami is returning seriously to gaming..

Finished the game on PS5 PRO and is great if you dont care about the free flickering effects , they just are on a few places. I played all the games (currently doing a new ride on Origins/PS2) and is clearly that SH series are the kind of games that benefit from top graphics becuase improves inmmersion.

Hope in the future we get a PRO patch to get other endings...

You DO realize that if all ps players go to pc, so do their purchases, right?

Bloober did good. Looking forward to SH1, 3 and 4 get the same treatment. Just work on the pacing guys.

It would be ideal if they didn't make a remake of Silent Hill 4, its unintentional comedy and laugh scenes work in their original form.
