Silent Hill 2 remake shipments and digital sales top 2 million

Agreed, definitely had a lot of reservations going in with Bloober's history but was a surprisingly good game.
Totally. I went in with low expectatations and went out binged through it (only games I really enjoy I do that).

This alongside Indy and the Great Circle made it quite a decent year for unexpectedly awesome games; with lasting impressions.

This amazing dev has yet to fix the game on PS5 Pro.
It's been 2 months since their latest (shitty) patch and it's been nothing but radio silence on their part, sorry but I can't start clapping yet.

Also, and always IMO, the fact that the game came out good in the end is more of an anomaly than actual merit taking into account Bloober's pedigree - and this comes from someone that actually enjoyed Blair witch, the medium and observer.

Said it before and I'll say it again, Bloober has some very good artists and art direction in their games but when it comes to the actual technical part... they will always be incredibly incompetent

Surprised how a small studio produced such an amazing looking game.

Vast majority of sales on Sony's machine guaranteed. Once again, PS5 owners saving the industry by buying full priced single player games on release.

Don't fight it. Don't deny it. You know it to be true. Thank us.

Everybody wants us to swap to PC gaming but nobody wants to live in an industry full of PC only gamers.
It proves that selling games to pc is not automatically result an additional big sales number. The console is still the driving force for sales especially exclusives. Even ff7 rebirth right now, the sales in pc is not that big right now. If its a halflife and gta title it will sell big in any platform but not all games are gta or halflife.

THis just shows peiple have zero taste in games.

2mill only? And how many of that is on playstation alone vs pc?

It should have sold way more but todays gamers are not gamers.
Console is still the driving force in terms in sales. Even Metaphor recently, there are more who both it for Ps5 than xbox and pc combines. Ff7 rebirth sales is not that big right now in pc. Where is the support from pc masters? Where is the support for great games like Sh2 remake? That is why Im worried about Stellar blade PC port. Its a huge hit for Ps5 but Im not sure about the outcome in PC. I rather see shift up focus on PS5 especially the Dlc and sequel.

Played it. Beat it. Enjoyed it. Was the first game I beat this year. Kinda miss the days when selling 2 million copies was generally regarded as successful.

And not nearly enough enemy variety, encounters get kinda boring and not so scary by half game.
I understand but it is still impressive and technical marvel even in Ps5 slim, at even just 30 fps I was still impress and it did not bother my gameplay. Well it is not Doom or RE with allot of variety of monster, this is more of
dealing with the psychology and state of mind and guilt of James, and all the monsters and scenes are symbolic, sort like a test.

I know all of that and it's not a huge flaw in the end, but a flaw nevertheless.

Good game, I don't like the arbitrary ways they use to determine which ending you'll get, if u need a guide to get the good endings its a no no imo, i got the "Maria" ending btw.

After that i booted SH1 and got the bad ending too, its too damn hard to get good endings without a guide and i m thinking this must happens in all the games.

Ironically the Maria ending is actually the hardest one to get, you just miraculously did all the right (or in this case wrong) things. The vast majority of people get the Leave or In Water endings first playthrough.

only thing i didn't like is difficulty as most i played on normal by the half of the game i was having 100+ bullets and 20+ health and 10+ syringes i would like that it would not have difficulty choices or normal would be normal and not easy.

Really ? from what i've read it feels like the easiest one to get it, you just need to stay close to her isnt ?

I watched the other endings on YT and all off than hits hard as fuck, the Maria one is just meh if u dont understand it.

They say
Leave is the best since James and Laura survive , but Maria has that appeal to me because I also got attach to her. But the interpretation of of some is that its a bad ending since it will just be cycle again of her getting sick and James doing the same mistake.

Well deserved, I had almost no faith in this remake based on Konami's track record and trailer didn't helped but in the end I couldn't be more happier to be wrong.

tbh any ending that James leave alive is bad, dude should burn in fire, Maria ending is sad cause she suffered a lot and she is guilt of nothing. She got what she wanted, that was to leave with him, get sick and die again in the real word, no resurrections for her this time.

Impressive results.

But I'm personally disappointed in PC sales. It was a day-and-date release of a beloved franchise's long-awaited return. They still didn't buy it.

Would have been great had the PC community also supported the game better. Would have been around 3.5 to 4 million copies by now.

It's done about as well as Astro Bot then. Similar sales figures, release timing and probably team size. I reckon it will reach 3-4 million after a few years with deeper discounts (most it's had off so far is 20%).

Very well deserved and yes i'll toot my own horn by saying I defended this hard on GAF against all of the naysaying pre-release.

The game can't have any variety of enemies compared to what it has, because these enemies are tied to the story in a very specific way! We should be thankful that we got variations of them!

I know all of that and it's not a huge flaw in the end, but a flaw nevertheless.

It can't be considered a flaw, the plot is the same as the original and the enemies are tied to the plot of the game, they couldn't add new type of enemies just to increase the variety of them, because this would have meant rewriting the plot! It's a faithful remake of the original game! Come on now!
