I hate Valentines Day, as It's commercialised to death and puts pressure on people to buy gifts and piss money away. I seldomly take part in it, however I do like to randomly buy flowers and go out for meals etc with my other half.

I could say the same thing about Christmas and families taking time to get together. At least Valentine’s Day doesn’t cause for a whole month or more a good chunk of people to turn into borderline psychopaths in shopping, driving, and general attitude, and have several of my radio stations get hijacked so that they now play only 40-50 songs I got tired of by the time I was in my 20’s.

This is why Halloween > all holidays. The whole month of October people act normal, you can enjoy scary movies and games all month, and the holiday itself promotes genuine selflessness as adults give candy away and legitimately without expecting anything in return other than thanks (as for kids, ah, they’re kids, let them enjoy a few free things like candy before they get older).

Halloween, the holiday of true peace and joy on Earth.
