  • Sony is conducting a market survey to gauge gamer interest in purchasing the Nintendo Switch 2.
  • The survey asks about interest in the Switch 2, opinions following the Nintendo Direct announcements, and appealing aspects of the console.
  • Potential motivating factors for buying the Switch 2 include exclusive games, community engagement, new features, and hardware upgrades.

Good survey by Sony PS. It's a proper engagement to costumers. I think with Totoki they really are listening. But first of all I want to thank Sony PS for removing SBI consultancy, thats a good start. For me, I hope too see more SP exclusives and bring back AA support especially for Japan Sony exclusives. And I think its the right time to bring back PSP for a much cheaper and handheld version especially for Japan's preference, to compete switch handheld. PS portal can be a good model, were it can also connect to PS console and can also be a standalone handheld.

Research for a new psp hopefully. Did they ask if we want glassless 3D?😂 Would like to play all PlayStation exclusives (&some selected 3rd party) released from ps2-ps5 and new exclusives in perfect remastered 3D. We need something what the steam deck and switch don't have.

I love the prices of the games, Sony.

If you ask me you should increase them even more.

That's what's they're expecting to get from this survey.
It makes sense.
A lot of gamers seem to dislike unsustainable business models, like game prices that are too low. Instead, they like to celebrate ownership and sustainability which is exactly what $100 games enable.

At this point i kinda lost quite a bit of my initial enthusiasm for the new gen of handheld devices. They aim to play all the newest demanding titles yet all fail to deliver even remotely acceptable performance. I'd prefer handheld only titles with much smaller scopes, res and so on. Would also remove the need for these to be this heavy, large, sometimes loud and warm.

If Psp will be resurrected, it needs two things for me. First, it does not necessarily need AAA exclusives , what it needs is, are good AA exclusives especially for Japan market like JRPG or even niche or quirky games. And 2nd the PSP needs a PS console integration for both ps5 and up to ps6. Ps portal was already a good model.

This is probably Market research if upcoming 2027-2028 handheld.

However this is also probably market research about increased game prices. And that could be done in next big game from Sony.

Portal 2 with a card reader incoming
Portal 2 with 5G isn't bad idea.
Sony has a major issue of not supporting their secondary devices.

Vita and PSVR1&2 are examples of Sony's and other devs lack of support.

A new native handheld device is surely going to fall into similar fate.

A PS Portal 2 overcomes Sony's lack of support flaw. No optimization issues, no lack of support from Sony and other devs, no storage price issues, no battery issues, etc. with the only downside being an internet connection.

I think the pros heavily outweigh the cons vs. a native handheld.

Sony, leave VR for PCs and set up a Portal 2 with standalone hardware and interacting with PS5 like the Switch. Simple and easy.

Imagine making that stupid of question while ignoring the Nintendo first party.

Yeah, of course Mario Kart World will not be the main factor for consumers to get a NS2.

I don't remember them asking if it was cool before bumping things up to $70 along with system and services price increases. Naturally people should be saying fuck no to any raise in price, so why even do a questionnaire? See how the market reacts and base a decision on that.

There should be a spread of game prices damn it. No way Elden Ring and South of Midnight should be identically priced products. Honestly, I think $99 is proper for the top tier. GTA, Elden Ring, Zelda etc.

A manager really wants to do it, they forced them to do a survey first, manager thinks they have engineered the right survey to make people essay what they want it to say.

How does one get one of these surveys? You'd think having the same profile attached to 3 PS3s, a PSP, a Vita, 3 PS4s, a PS4Pro, two PS5s and a PS5Pro would get you on the list.

I even own a switch Sony. For goodness sake, survey me! And don't raise the game prices. I've got very expensive hobbies, children and a wife to feed.

It's clear that Sony is planning to release a handheld console alongside the PS6, and it's sure to be technically top-notch.
If they do, it will fail again.

Switch works cause it's the only console Nintendo needs to support. PS6 and a handheld would be another disaster.

Sony is trying to understand if they should bother porting some games to the NS 2 or not, like they are already doing on PC.
