I knew this would be high price, this is Sony praying on their consumers that don't know any better. Just like the overpriced inferior quality InZone gaming headsets. Sony saw a market and they are cashing in on it. This monitor or those headsets are not worth their retail price compared to the competition.

It's Sony they have to make it "distinct".

They had to shove a bit of PS5 motif somewhere. Usually if you're so desperate to be different that you reinvent the wheel (or in this case, add one) it's not that good.
