I want this to be good, but the combat arenas has me concerned. I’m not sure this game will live up to its potential as the theme is so under utilized in today’s gaming landscape.

Developers track record is patchy at best. One of many bad panic buys from papa Phil if you ask me.

Can't see this being any good, would love to be proven wrong mind.

I typically think combat arenas are shorthand for telling me devs can't design good encounters and levels facilitating that. I just find it so fucking boring and lazy. One of my worst pet peeves with modern Action gaming.

Wtf even is this?

No offence but I've read the OT and posts and still have no clue even what the GENRE is, let alone ANY gameplay elements?

All ive got are animated engine cutscenes and back-of-box publisher Prose...

Wtf even is this?

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Only at the beginning but I'm really digging the vibes. Tonally feels unlike anything I have seen before even if they gameplay itself is not original at all.

Are you on console?

If yes, are there quality / performance options, and how does the animation on two's option work? Does it successfully disable that in the game play?

How’s the combat and pacing of the game?

Like how often are you fighting, bosses, cut scenes, exploring, etc.

This game is very hard to grasp the flow of what it’s going for.

Is combat challenging?

Yes, this is very well said. I think I’m on chapter five now. Gameplay wise it does absolutely nothing new. You have double jump, dash, glide, zipping, wall running. You collect orb type things to get points to upgrade powers. You collect yellow health things and every third one upgrades max health. Combat is heavily based on timing and dodging. All things we have seen before.

But the setting and the narrative are very unique and unlike other games. Even the music is incredible and it blends in perfectly and the songs are about the people you are helping.

I played on default 60fps (on XSX and it was smooth as butter so far), but i will check if there are other options later today.
