I don’t understand why Xbox let their console sales drop that bad and they plan to release a new console in 2 years…. lol
Setting trends. They outsmarted the market by releasing their Pro next to their base model and hope to do it again

In perspective, the sales figures for the Pro don’t seem as impressive as the article makes them out to be.
A Pro in Spain is 2X the price of a standard PS5. That’s quite something.
Xbox evangelists are so thoroughly abused over here it's a martyrdom fest. They seem so out of touch it's actually fascinating.
And yet all my friends play on Xbox, fuck my life. Is not that bad, also banter in Spain is almost its own language by itself. We do a little bit of banter.
I wonder how much higher this rate would be if the drives were more readily available. Plus, I bet there were quite a few Pro buyers like myself who bought their disc drive weeks before the Pro's release.
Drives are not available for weeks now. Is not that Spain is choosing digital, is a forced decision.

I’m aware; I’m just curious to see what the true attach rate for the disc drive on the Pro would have been if it had actually been in stock and the market demand for it was met.

Fantastic numbers with the upcoming promotions lasting a full month and the Pro launch, Sony's numbers for the holiday season should be strong.

Sony dominating in sonyland surprises no one. On the other hand can't believe how low are those figures for NSW, Xbox is literally non existent there

Not 2X, more like 1,78X, but isn't that the case everywhere?
In Spain, prices should be €449 for the Slim and €799 for the Pro. Those are the same prices as in other EU countries.
I'm not very familiar with the US tax system, but there are also taxes on the US MSRP , whereas these are already included in the EU prices.

But is more significant in a less developed country like Spain than in the wealthiest countries in the world.

We therefore need more figures from other countries/regions to be able to draw conclusions
As a spaniard I can relate to that, XBOX is almost non-existent in here
Do you feel offended, if someone calls your country "less developed"? :D

lol at some people thinking Spain is not one of the top developed countries in Europe

Spain and the rest of southern EU are living off of Dutch taxpayers though.

But that's a different discussion. 🙃

Jesus Christ. It's Spain, not Malawi.

That said i'm right next to Spain (in Portugal) and i wonder how they had so many disc drives. I can't find one anywhere.
The explanation is simple, portubro. The biggest video game retailer here, Game, is doing God’s work and hoarded all the disk drives. So there are existences but they only sell them with the Pro as a bundle (with discount). Them, out of self interest but still, trying to maintain the physical format warms my heart. But anyone that bought the 30th anniversary of either the slim or the pro are fucked. The other day I received an alert of stock in the PlayStation direct page of Spain but by the time I clicked they were gone : (

Nope, honestly I couldn’t care less, but it just amuses me reading some comments and how some people might not only read it but make their own impressions over something they are completely clueless just because some one said it’s less developed, implying it might not be a developed country :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Spain is one of the strongest Sony feuds in the world, probably everyone who wanted and could afford a pro went out and got one, but this is not going to be the kind of picture you see long term because 1) Sony fans are rabbid consumers in Spain and will be there day 1 2) Family economy in Spain is in shambles and no significant number of people will be buying it on mass after launch.

Is there beef between the Spanish and Portuguese right enough? I am ignorant on the subject. I know historically back in the 1400s it was split up, I know im being ignorant.

Do people from those countries have an issue with one another?
No. You could make a movie about their bromance.

You can't find anyone more critical about Spain than a Spaniard. It's like a curse.

Mckmaster uses MasterCard to buy Slave drives
9k the week before and 5.6k two weeks before the launch of the pro.

Amazon sales for the pro were 400+ for the month before release.

So 400+ sales on Amazon. And over 10,000 in actual sales. So only going by Amazon sales is kinda stupid, right?

PS4 Pro sales numbers in Spain via Installbase:

+---------+-------------+-------------+
| SPAIN | PS4 | PRO |
+---------+-------------+-------------+

So the PS5 is selling about the same speed as the PS4 Pro in Spain. Cool.

No. It goes like this. Portuguese folk hate us but they say they don't, we love them anyway.

Honestly, we might even see PS5 outselling XBS 4 to 1 by the end/lifetime.

Sony is gearing up to release their heavy hitters from their major studios, GTA VI will do numbers as well and XBS will only sell less and less.
Unlikely unless xbox pulls the plug in 2025. Not out of the realm of possibility but I think they'll try to stick around until GTA 6.
