Its not really any different than the Catwoman sections in Arkham City thematically.

MJ is an integral part of Peter Parker’s life, she’s not an integral part of his exploits as Spider-Man.

To be honest with you, with all the absolutely batshit insane action sequences and moments this game has to offer, I can't bring myself to care enough to moan about this.

"OMG, this 25 hour game has like 20 mins total of a budget TLOU sections grrrrr", ultimately it's like, who cares? Having experienced the stuff this game has to offer, the game has more than enough fucking crazy superhero action going on across it's runtime (Like every other mission has some Naughty Dog level set-piece). So crazy in fact, that no reasonable person would come away from this game thinking these short variety sections do much harm to the game overall, and that's assuming you don't enjoy them, which from what I gather isn't a universal opinion compared to the 2018 sections.

As per about 3 full game walkthroughs on YouTube it’s about *10-11 hours and about one 1 hour is spent as MJ depending on player skill of course. And of course that’s also not counting slow walking as Peter, bike riding, the whole deaf girl mission, spider drones flying through AR hoops like Superman 64, spider drone bathroom stealth, and spider drone bee zapping

But I understand it’s easier to argue against a straw man than it is to argue against observable reality so don’t feel too bad

If we're being 100% honest, Sable was also ridiculously OP in the first game. Silver Sable is just a human and was able to get the drop on a superhuman who can sense danger (multiple times, mind you - does his spider-sense just not work on her for some reason?), and can easily kick his ass in a one-on-one boss battle in the DLC:

This fight was ridiculous on Ultimate difficulty btw, she can literally one-shot kill Spider-Man lmao


But hey, you're right about one thing - that kind of bullshit undoubtedly laid the groundwork for Spider-Man 2's silliness.

Have you see Harry’s facial model? Peters? Mr negatives? What I think you’ll find is all the male facial models look extraordinarily like their game counter parts. Have you seen MJs facial model? Curiously her in game counter part looks nothing alike. She looks uglier simply put. And she’s the only one of the main cast to have this be the case. So people notice this kind of thing and call insomniac out.

I just don't understand how having ugly characters improve the game in any way. And yeah it is especially weird that it happens to be the major female character and just like Horizon, it looks nothing like the face model.

That's true for all female characters in these games. Black Cat could have single handedly defeated both Venom and Kraven.
