Yep, absolutely loved everything about this. As a trekie my entire life, this really felt like "closure" to all the series I loved. I know there will be lots more Trek after this, but this really does feel like the final sendoff to classic trek. And it was perfect.

What's it got to do with Gene? It was all Shatner and Nimoy, unless Gene('s estate) controls the source material for the deep fakes or AI models or however they did it.

DEFINITELY too many fat people in Shatners 'heaven' and not nearly enough hot alien chicks!

Educate yourself. What does the creator of the entire IP, that entire era, those characters, have to do with a send off to TOS?

Then an appeal to hot babes, completely misunderstanding the purpose of the project and even Kirk’s character. what?

i would strongly recommend reading through a number of blog posts that have been made on the OTOY website on the Roddenberry Archive. This short is just the latest one released and seems part of a larger piece of a storyline that is being taken near directly from a late 90s Star Trek Early Voyages comic storyline in which Yeoman Colt, the girl with the red hair in the Pike era uniform is being sent to different futures and timelines.

Its literaly done together between Estate and OTOY.

"The Roddenberry Archive is a multi decade collaboration with The Roddenberry Estate, OTOY, and iconic Star Trek artists Denise and Mike Okuda, Daren Dochterman, and Doug Drexler to collect significant documents and art from Gene Roddenberry’s lifetime of work, beginning with the Starship Enterprise, and to make them accessible through innovative means of presentation. The project aims to preserve this information for those studying his career in the future, for those who appreciate his work, and to provide accurate information for those involved in future productions and other projects based on Roddenberry’s work.

The Roddenberry Archive seeks to honor the work and career of Gene Roddenberry by documenting, preserving, and presenting key aspects of his work, including Star Trek and other productions.

This portal features some of the latest work from the Archive team, allowing visitors to virtually explore the complete history and legacy of every bridge of the Starships Enterprise - as 1:1 scale “in-universe” experiences.

Over two dozen U.S.S. Enterprise bridges are currently in this archive portal (with more on the way) - from the first 1964 concept artwork for the Star Trek pilot, to the newest ship to be called Enterprise, revealed at the conclusion of Star Trek: Picard Season 3.

Please be sure to visit the archive Youtube’s channel and blog posts for a deep dive on the work being done behind the scenes - and incredible interviews with cast and crew - including William Shatner, Terry Matalas and many more.

The human adventure is just beginning…

I've seen virtually ALL of Trek. This little film was just Kirk reminiscing about/revisiting his Legacy. Feels more like a Shatner vanity piece than a Roddenberry retrospective IMHO. But it's so abstract it can go lots of different ways. I don't think it encapsulates much of Genes vision for future humanity.

And if you think GENE "Fuck EVERYBODY" RODDENBERRY wasn't ALL ABOUT the "hot chicks", then YOU need to educate yourself. :p

I love that they included that alien officer from the season 3 episode of Discovery. It was only a hologram but still it was in the episode

The Office No GIF

It's a nice little piece even though it's a very elaborate commercial to commemorate the 30th anniversary of that turd Generations.
