Wtf did i just watch? I was never the biggest Star Trek fan, but this just seemed silly. Just like with the Dune series, it seems as if the makers have never seen Star Trek.

Yeah I'm gonna have to pass. I only saw maybe two hints of this being star trek. Maybe they should just call it something else? Some generic name like they do with tv shows and movies now.

WTF is going on these days? This looks just like the Star Wars stuff now

Star Trek: The next tax write off

I hope everyone realizes that these shows are all losses or have some kind of money laundering financial loophole by now...all the disney stuff...all this garbage thats been shoveled in our faces over the last 10 or so years

So star trek cannon remains tos >tng>ds9>voyager>enterprise>picard season 3 got it

I think Lower Decks should be canon as well :D

The SNW crossover kinda does, at least in an "animated alternate dimension" sorta way. But I'm not sure anything in LD directly contradicts anything that could/would happen in whatever "main timeline" folks might consider to be canon.

I just think the TNG visual aesthetic, well demonstrated in LD, as well as the level of tech and the general state of the galaxy (no massive wars, lots of races have reasons to mingle or squabble, there is a place for Starfleet to be both diplomatic and explorers) in the late TNG era is a great one for another traditional style show and I'm not sure why 'they' are so damned reluctant to just give us one!

IMHO the worst things about SNW are the bits they try to hammer into making it a TOS 'prequel'.

I haven't liked any Nu-Trek after the Star Trek movie (2009). I gave up on Discovery very fast as it didn't feel like Star Trek. SNW was a bit better, but it also lacked what made the original and Next Generation so incredibly good.

This is just another step away from fans like me.

This has to be parody or just plain mean-spiritedness at this point, they know how shit this is.

How in the world does Michelle Yeoh not age.. Jesus she still looks great.

The trailer made no sense to me. It literally can be any random sci fi show.
She looks positively ancient in this trailer. A fucking 80 year old grandma kicking ass, in heels, in Star Trek! They have completely lost the plot.

I see they're a lot of TNG fans in here. To me personally the real Star Trek is TOS, I prefer the optimistic tone and the chemistry the old crew had with Kirk, Spock and Bones. So I do prefer Star Trek shows with a bit more action and adventure. My only issue with the new shows is that the writing is terrible.

TOS was a bit too random and low budget for me. A planet straight outta 30's chicago? For all their bangers there were some reaaaalllll stinkers in there as well. I think the films are what cement TOS as quality for me, especially the II-IV run and then VI. Absolute asskicking storytelling in those films and great character work. Sadly TNG never really got a great film and even their best, the Borg one, was accomplished at the expense of neutering their greatest foe. TNG and then DS9 hit the right balance between quality visuals, strong ensemble casts, compelling sci-fi allegories, and a legit narrative of future humanity.
