I haven't watched The Clone Wars or Rebels, so maybe it makes more sense in context. But learning that Maul became a crime lord felt a bit out of place to me

Yeah some people say she looked like Darth Talon

lol, as expected -- I didn't even see the details of the trailer or rumors, but just immediately assumed: if they're bringing back any beloved male villain, it's certain they're only doing it to boot the narrative of some other female character who will in fact be actual center of the show

tale as old as time kathleen kennedy

Jesus, come up with some new characters and story arcs, how fucking difficult it can be? Nobody gives a fuck about Maul, he is a Tier-3 villain.

I know people love his (Star Wars Rebels spoilers)
death in his final confrontation with Obi-Wan in Rebels, but George intended on Maul being the main threat of a sequel trilogy. The Sequel Trilogy era of SW is a mess but it seems they want to move forward (based off Gosling's movie being 5 years after Rise of The Skywalker). I wish there was a way for Maul to be around as a much needed compelling villain for that timeframe. He was discarded as trash and never gave up. He's a monster and he's a great character. I wish George's vision of him being the core threat for a conflict after the original trilogy could happen

It's because both Disney and Star Wars fans can't seem to let go of the Skywalker timeline for different reasons, so we are stuck in this period of time with infinitely ballooning stories, indefinitely.

It's why whenever Star Wars comes up in conversation I just recommend the video games instead. At least they'll provide you with some fun gameplay.

I'm honestly surprised anyone above the age of like 10 still gives a crap about modern Star Wars

That would require modern Disney to have any decent writers, which they don't. So they are stuck recycling old characters and stories because nostalgia and characters which were already popular before they took over is the only thing they have going for them these days.

When they try to do something original with SW we get The Acolyte.

Man, I would pay MONEY to see them go with a female design like that. Curvy busty bootie fit chick in tattered leathers and lots of exposed skin?

The red skin seems a bit too on the nose though. Is that an ethnic thing or a manifestation of her evilness? Or just rule of cool that Twi-leks match lightsabers in their alignment?

They can have all kinds of skin colors but I guess red makes her look extra cool

Her Disney design seems to be worksafe :messenger_face_steam:

Is it live action. Or that clone wars 3d shit? If it's live action, and they have an attractive Sith female. I shall go to the movie theater.

Wasn't the post credit scene in Solo about this?
Yeh but I believe, someone can correct me if I'm wrong here, the idea of him running a criminal organisation comes from one of those animated shows. It just feels weird when you go by that character's vibes in Phantom Menace. But like I said I'm maybe missing context given in a show I've not seen.

Star Wars is the most recycled IP ever.
The story expands in an entire galaxy and they show the same people and names again and again.

There is this Netflix series, its called Criminal. UK edition has 2 seasons, i think 6 episodes in total. It takes place in an interrogation room, the one next to it and the corridor up to the elevator, that's it.
It has introduced more original characters than Star Wars.

Why don't they just come out and tell us wokeness is actually the force. I would almost rather see that sort of honestly than the bullshit they've tried recently.

For what is worth, Star Wars fans are eating good.

I wish Metal Gear, and Final Fantasies were "milked" like that.
I dunno, man. I feel better off knowing that modern day industry folks stay away from those IPs and try to top them with new ideas instead. FF is nothing without Sakaguchi and some more notable original members/developers anyway. It doesn't have the same spirit that once propelled it.
