This show is still spread ridiculously thin, with its thousand characters and their hundred tangentially related subplots. Even the typical Drr navel gazing is done in 30 second increments now. Maybe by the end of the season each character's plot will advance 20 minutes each.

AnimeGAF! Guess what? . . . . . . It's been 3 months since I've been with you guys!! (Technically two since I took a break throughout May).
Month of June was pretty great, watched a lot of shows and have absolutely adored every single one. I've been thinking about making the monthly post an area where I can just link all my write-ups for people who missed them and for lurkers who don't check often; might do that next month.
Still able to watch much anime and I've been completing two cours a day quite consistently, though that's not a "stealth" brag or anything, just the position I'm in. This'll be the first season that I actually join in on what is airing and things, so I'm really looking forward to that, especially since there are so many good looking shows to watch, it'll be a lot of fun I hope!
Community is still absolutely fantastic. Really great and caring, which makes it easy to post and get feedback. Anime is still the only form of entertainment I've been watching the past 3 months or so and I'm not tired of it. Love the high school settings and slice of life continues to be great to watch. I have a feeling that the things I've seen and will watch are what I really like and will never tire from, which is pretty fantastic because I would be devastated if school settings or watching cute girls do cute things in cute ways got boring for me.

one piece has horrible pacing because of them dragging out a single chapter into an episode, but it doesn't do a ton of filler.
This site seems like a good source of entertainment.

5 years is a long time. Fatigue with any medium is mostly inevitable. Eventually once you've watched a ton of anime, you become more discerning. It's not uncommon at least.
I'm not trying to be condescending, my taste is still pretty questionable.
I know, I know. I'd rather not look forward to that outlook, ya know? "Most people" though, there is always a chance, that's my shining light.

Team Demise has a cool name. I dont know how this will go as its kind of going different than it did in s1 with Aichi Sendou and his tournaments. Perhaps the girl power match will have a bad outcome, and then Shion match will be the one to determine everything with him losing?

That can be true, I "started watching", when I moved to Canada about 7 years ago or so. I don't watch much aside from what's on every season these days, since I don't have the same enthusiasm to look for stuff from previous years. I wouldn't call it fatigue, but anime now is more there for me to watch after a long day of work or class, without me having to think too much. That's why I don't analyze the stuff as much as some folks do here, rather than a critic, I am just a guy looking for something to watch that will grab my attention for 20 minutes, be it good or bad.
PS: Firehawk, Hyouka is the bae of anime.

I will give it credit where it's due, the Mesoamerican / Aztec setting is original. I can't think right now of another fantasy adventure anime in that setting.
...but I can't give any credit to the awful character design
The bunny girl in special, the bunny ears are just hair that happen to be prepared that way. Lol.
Framing that makes my eyes roll
but it has a few more where were pretty good, like the festival processing near the river or the timelapse in the prison or the coming of the demon.
We have decent animation in the fight (but it's first episode so it doesn't count
) and a MC who fights with a lot of tricks (caltraps, smoke, venom!) which isn't considered very honorable. He has a decent chemistry with the princess.
The plot itself isn't present right now, except "this is going to be an group adventure about defeating the Demon God". So original setting, not so original story.

Burnout is inevitable but I always came back, never really in phase not watching any ongoing show in the season though.
Anime is just easy to watch for me, especially the ongoing.. 20 minute, done.. then wait a week. Unlike TV Show and Game, when I miss the "routine" its hard for me to return, and those tv show and game trapped in backlog hell lol

On an interesting note, my coworker that I saw watching Tokyo Ghoul is a pretty avid watcher and he got a Funimation account. I talked for 20 minutes this morning with him about all sorts of shows. Then my other coworker asked if we watched Grave of the Fireflies. I have awesome coworkers. They are all above 30 too.

Yeah, that's so cool about anime (and most other cartoons). Way better than those series which take around an hour.
I'm enjoying Wakabe Girls because of it's short length. It's just 8 minutes for your weekly dose of cute.

Looks like someone finally made an anime about the Tokyo Youth Health Ordinance Bill thing (or something similar)
The actual anime was rather alright. Jokes were funny and reminded me of Seitokai quite a bit, though it's slower than Seitokai and I foresee Shimoneta running out of steam as the anime continues its run. Still, a decent first impression.
