Snow White with the Red Hair - Episode 1

Nothing says independent female lead better than character development just five minutes into the first episode!

Super action director Ando is back at super action studio BONES directing.... a shoujo manga about Snow White and the Baka Princes! At least I think that's what it's about. The backgrounds and colors turned out much better than expected from the first trailer. It's a pretty solid debut episode, even though it's more restrained than Ando's usual first episodes. Hopefully this also means it doesn't burn itself out early!

I like the humor in the show a lot, and it definitely reminds me a bit of both Noragami and Ouran Host Club. The nice character expressions and exaggerations add to it too. Glad to see that Ando even managed to slip in a short action scene with nice movement and flair. I like the characters, but honestly have no idea where the story is going. This episode feels like it could work as a single stand alone story without anything after that.

I wonder if the stories will be episodic stuff about Snow White's random wacky adventures with various Baka Princes, or if there's some ongoing arc that develops. Anyone who reads the manga have any idea?

Well Bones like any other Studio are a hit and miss. As for now they've been doing a great job recently with their adaptions. For instance the first episode of Akagami Shirayuki-hime was really good.

From what I hear it's a really comfy slice-of-life of royalty with a splash of political and medical/pharmaceutical issues. Though I could be wrong but that's what a few people say who have read the series. Plus I heard it's a good and well written series.

I was a little confused by some events in this episode , but it all made sense by the end.
renge is an EXCELLENt character, you love her naivety , her sense of curiosity , her pure heart ... it's a whole package and it freaking works ..

It's back , and it's better than before !

As I recall they were annoyed by the 'magical country people' and rose coloured glasses view of country living in it.

Barakamon isn't quite morally offensive, just trite, cliche, and dull. There's lots of "you Tokyo city slickers just don't appreciate the earthy wisdom of these rural noble savages" claptrap, and I have absolutely no reason to root for or give a diseased rat's ass about the hero at all.

Its 14 Vols in total and is ongoing. Bones are either gonna stop somewhere with a open ending and maybe continue adapting the series if it does well profit wise. Or Bones will just go with their terrible anime original ending which hopefully doesn't happen.

I hope the series does well in sales.

They've been going real strong. Yeah they may of had some duds here and there but damn have they had some great series as of now. Hopefully it continues.

Akagami Shirayuki-hime their Summer anime has been really great. The first episode was really well done. Kekkai Sensen was a really great adaption and Season 2 of Noragami is coming. Since the first season was good I have faith in the second season.

It's amazing how much less of a mess this first ep is when one actually knows the terminology. I mean, it doesn't excuse the presentation, but it's like when one might try to explain something to someone else but leave out crucial details that are apparent to one's self but not the other.

Cross Ange 14

First half of this ep was really great and hinted at what the show might have been. Second half had a harem antic montage and a bathscene and hinted at what the show became.

Mazinger Z 1

Aight time to give this another go as my last attempt stalled mostly due to waiting for the whole series to be released on dvd. I'd forgotten this ep was near entirely setup.

Victory Gundam 30

Contrived as it was, Uso reuniting with his mother was really nice. So many of his encounters with older females has been him seeking some sort of surrogate mother in lieu of his absent one. Shame she'll probably get Tomino'd soon.

The more I watch To Love Ru, the more it just doesn't make sense. I just finished ep.19 ( Hell's Hot Springs) and there had been no plotline at all still. No character developement, (maybe a little for Haruna) and no movement anywhere. I mean, it is just plain ecchi and fun so far, but where is this giant harem, lol? Also, at times, they try to make things feel serious in regards to Rikki's relationship with Haruna, but that's nothing in the grand scheme of things.. Dammit, I need more than T&A with fun, lol.

I feel like we have had this story a few times over the last few seasons.
prince or princess likes to believe their kingdom is decent
tragedy strikes and prince or princess needs to take up arms to save kingdom.
throw in a poorly done CG dragon and we have Chaos Dragon. It's a shame as given the talent behind this one I had much higher hopes.

There was nothing great about this one, but I don't mind nice simple romcoms so I will likely continue to wach this one for a bit.
