Whoops, totally forgot I started watching RahXephon. Am 7 episodes in and while I enjoy the premise and art style, which somewhat reminds me of Evangelion though e.g. the mechs' (or what they really are) design is even more dreary/grotesque, the story has yet to prove itself and characterization is a bit of a weakness so far. For once there've been so many characters introduced that it's a bit overwhelming and sometimes it feels like a character degenerates into a very uninspired love interest for the MC, seemingly behaving different from the previous characterization. Haruka in particular is just hard to take seriously when she goes from some combat-ready badass to MC and dog loving babe out of the blue. Misato from Evangelion seemed much better defined, even though her attitude changes massively from home to work.
So yeh, kinda indifferent on it so far, but certainly enjoyable enough to continue. Hope the story will deliver.
