Diamond is unbreakable live action
First of all, let me say that this is not a good movie. BUT, i feel entertained during the whole movie, so there's that.
Turning ridiculous manga such as Jojo is no easy task, even for a profilic director such as Takashi Miike. Big boy, he manage to nail the horor aspect right, and also the cheesy and humor.
Yukako interaction with Koichi is funny, and the guy who play as Koichi really know what kind of movie this is. He expression and acting is over the top, which really help.
Setting, i don't know what Miike got in mind when he adapt this movie, one of the strangest decision was making Morioh based on a spanish city. The school looks like cathedral, and the climax of the show is happen in a very european mansion full of naked bust.
As for the plot, the show basically adapt the beginning up until they fight Nijimura brother, but with a twist ending. The movie decide to add more depth to Josuke and his grandpa. Basically, turning his grandpa as the uncle ben of this movie and making this as the origin as Josuke decide to become the guardian of Morioh.
Now, the action part... well,it's jojo. Thr cheap chgi really sucks, but seeing Jotaro and other make a pose before showing their stand is both hilarious and cringey.
The movie is definitely not a newcomer friendly. Everything happen so fast, and there's almost zero explanation for Stand other than that it's a supernatural being that can do insane stuff.
Honestly,i enjoy it,but i'm not sure i can recommend this to new comer or fans alike. If you want to see some ridiculous b horor action movie, then go watch this. This is really turn your brain off kind of movie
