Ironic. Most of SE's casts in games look like femboy/mascgirls (ok women look feminine at least) non-binary folks anyways 😂 this is a win.

What you think it means: OMG, companies are pulling out from working with Sweet Baby!

What it really means: Either SB never worked with S-E, or they used dubious logic to feature their logo e.g. they worked with ex-SE employee in another company and put S-E by association OR they never had a right to feature S-E as their client (which is always a contentious issue and subject to extra negotiation when doing business)

It still kills me that they decided to name themselves "Sweet Baby", despite not producing anything related to baby food and stuff.

Square might be putting consultants aside (or not, removing it from the website doesnt tell much)

But it's clear that having a consultant company attached to your studio will hurt sales. Ubisoft is learning the hard way. The 'CHUD' crowd is much bigger than the 'woke' crowd

Meh, who really gives a fuck now? Jill & Clive were clearly "woke" driven characters created & directed by Sweet Baby....

Just make great games and nobody will continue to give a fuck....

There was a time, even here, where people would outrage about some 'offensive' thing in a game and the response would be a "sweet baby jesus" gif. The name is a play on that and not about actual baby sweets.

SQEX has been my favorite developers since the days of Squaresoft (I know they are *not* the same, but that's how it his. The heart is really stupid --sometimes-- when it comes to these things), so I hope they can rectify the ship. I love the FF franchise with a passion, but the decisions they've been making in the last decade have been far from optimal. I hope that, if real, this is the first step towards recovery.

A bit too late for DQ III's remake, but still a step in the right direction (hopefully).

That has very little or nothing to do with the subject of this thread, and more with S-E wanting to sell DQ games in Japan at lower CERO ratings. It's been happening for a while.

Conversely, they still continue to make and release other games with higher CERO ratings that include no such modifications.

I'll believe it when I see square show it. SBI can just remove a name and keep their partnership secret. Call me paranoid but I want to see receipts first.
That wouldn’t surprise me. A rebrand or some sneaky shenanigans are likely to happen.

But like Reaseru Reaseru said, we can smell that shit a mile away.

Wait, I'm confused. I was told that companies like Sweet Baby and the DEI initiatives were the right side of history and everything other than that was clearly, unequivocally, pure nazism.

Wha... what's happening? Are Square Enix far-right now? I don't want to support racism and bigotry, guys :messenger_fearful:
