I've been really looking forward to this one. It's been getting a lot of buzz and seems to be one of the frontrunners for the 2025 Best Picture Oscar.
Apologies to

It’s about an architect yeh. But pretty different than Megalopolis. This about architecture?
Or is this just what "Megalopolis" wished it could have been?
The film chronicles 30 years in the life of László Tóth, a fictional Hungarian-born Jewish architect who survives the Holocaust. After the end of World War II, he emigrates to the United States with his wife, Erzsébet, to experience the “American dream.” László initially endures poverty and indignity, but he soon lands a contract with a wealthy client, Harrison Lee Van Buren, that will change the course of his life.
I’m really looking forward to Anora too. Not long to go for that. The Brutalist or Anora will be best picture for the year
Anora was so good, Mikey Madison is gonna win an Oscar, she's just phenomenal.I’m really looking forward to Anora too. Not long to go for that.
In the sense that it's critically acclaimed and respectedThis about architecture?

They probably aimed to make most of their returns on streaming, where runtime isn’t an issue.3.5 hours! Was this originally meant as a mini series?
I look at brutalist architecture trying to convince myself to like it but I can never get a hard on.I'm in even though I dislike brutalist architecture

A dash of color here and there would spruce things up. Guess they ran out of paint or something.
I was thinking more about the exterior of brutalist architecture. It's not so much the color for me but the textureless concrete everywhere. What? You don't find this cozy!?

I appreciate brutalism in isolation and in photography, but in reality I hate it.
It's great for some obscure building out in the sticks or as the mountain-top lair for a James Bond villain, but in a town centre or as the local council office, not so much..
This video is quite an interesting watch with the cinematographer talking about them using Vistavision for itHope this ushers in a resurgence of VistaVision..
