All caught up. Shockingly good and engaging finale for a season that meandered way too much for its own good.
Also, that kid looked shockingly well adjusted considering that she was raised by Single Mom Clarke completely isolated from society in a nuclear bunker.

This might just be me, but I hope for next season the dialogue sound is captured better. I found a lot of scenes in this season difficult to understand. As in I could not make out what the characters were saying -- they spoke too fast or low or something. The environmental sounds got in the way a lot.
In the final episode, this was an issue when it came to getting the rocket in the air. I probably understood a little less than 2/3 of that. I could still understand the general gist of things but without subtitles, it can be hard to follow sometimes.
Also, I want aliens in this series. Please do it. Make ALIE a 6th ranger to fight them.

Just binged through the whole season, glad I watched it all at once at the end since I think I woulda been driven nuts by all the abandoned plots and stories in the season. The whole "will putting nightblood in everyone work? Fuck it, lets just let em all die instead" thread went absolutely nowhere and that was downright mystifying.
Still, the battle arena, them actually killing 99.9% of the worlds population (damn!), the crazy wtf ending, and all the fun apocalyptic scenarios were great to watch. With season 5 being the final season, I'm in, but again gonna do the same thing and wait until the season is over to binge watch it all. Characters are far less frustrating that way.
I don't get the prison ship thing at all though, can't wait to see what insane convoluted explanations spring up for that next season.

I want to see how Octavia has (not) coped with the realities of becoming the new chieftain of a bunch of broken clans, outright hated by her own people and disliked by half of the earthers.
Also, I think we know fully well that there has to be a bunch of undiscovered bunkers around. This is basically Fallout: The TV Show, down to the crazy cult shelters, the Enclave, the creepy Corporations and Clarke's mercenary leather armour. And I'm loving it.
Edit: Fuck, add the unexpected trip to the stars to that list, ala Mothership Zeta.

I couldn't keep up with the show due to scheduling conflicts, but I managed to make some jifs anyway.
RIP, you phony surfer rebound lay. You never held a candle to Lincoln and nobody will miss your corny ass.
With that said, this show looks really, really good when it tries. The Gagarin is giving me some serious Neill Blomkamp vibes and the yuxtaposition of the wasteland and Clarke's green patch was very striking.

Someone pointed out on reddit something I missed from the finale and the episode before - Jackson (the doctors aide) mentions that Becca developed nightblood for the Eligius Corporation to protect against solar radiation as they transport criminals in hypersleep. On of Raven's monitors also has an article about Eligius Corporation having mining and penal colonies out on the asteroids.
So I guess the "returning humans" are going to be (ex?) mining prisoners who have lived out in space for 100+ years as well.
I'd also recommend the book Seveneves by Neal Stephenson (Snow Crash, Diamond Age, Baroque Cycle) for anyone into the genre, pretty solid read.

Truth. However I just connected the dots on something everyone else probably did two seasons ago. Lincoln must've been named that because the Lincoln Memorial (which we saw briefly in the jungle in S1 or S2) was nearby. I like how aspects of former society have remained in the grounder culture. The worldbuilding on this show has always been great, much more thoughtful and realistic than Horizon Zero Dawn for instance.
Huh, nice sleuthing. I really hope half of next season isn't just shots of Clarke and Lexa Jr. running and hiding in the jungle from the baddies. Although some Red Dawn stuff could be cool with Clarke shouting "Skaikruuuuu!" as she blows up some convicts.

The gorilla seen in season 2 with Lexa and Clarke was awesome. Was hoping for more of that, I'm guessing most of the wildlife in the area should be dead now due to the radiation but fingers crossed they mutated into something.

Hahah I love rewinding it just to hear how they get standard english words in there. My favorite was the subtitled word of "fight" and Octavia I think said "throwdown".

Yes! It's my favorite part of the lore for this show. You can actually hear how it derived from English. Reminds me of some of the patois you hear down South.
