The Amazing Spider-Man - CAM Trailer

I'm not disappointed in a "game's gonna suck" kinda way, but after that Mirror's Edge-inspired trailer to the movie, I was really hoping they'd make this a first-person action game. It'd be a challenge, but the series needs something new.
Same here. I was really hoping for that, and I still think a game heavily influenced by Mirror's Edge will someday prove to be the breakout hit that ME wasn't -- Gears of War to ME's Kill Switch -- and a superhero game seems like a natural fit.

Either way, I really wish they'd give the game the time necessary to properly develop, and an open world game is obviously going to take a good deal of time if you want to give the world any detail and a sense of life.

Of course they'll put the game out alongside the movie whether it's ready or not. Activision should take notes from Arkham City -- the tie-in to the movie with a character as big as Spider-Man is a negative, not a plus, in just about every conceivable way these days.

And really, Spider-Man is quite similar in most incarnations -- movies, cartoons, comics... More so than Batman, I'd think, and as such, they're naturally going to gain from the movies' marketing efforts/popularity and take inspiration from them when it's advantageous to do so, but there is no need to handicap yourself by being attached to it.

A legit AAA Spider-Man game could be every bit as popular as Arkham City. Come on Activision, use your greed for good for once.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this was better than the movie.

Glad they're at least going back to open world style. Spider-Man belongs on those kinds of games.

Well it's been in development for over a year and it releases next summer.

Kinda rubs me up the wrong way to be honest.

3 spiderman games in 3 years....it just feels like franchise whoring.

And I have no faith in movie tie in games anyway.
Activision? Franchise whoring? I scoff at the impliation!

Be glad it isn't done by Treyarch anymore considering how bad SM3 and Web of Shadows were(Shaba games did the combat system).
Hopefully Beenox will take WoS's combat system + open world + storytelling and make them perfect

Was looking forward to checking out the web-swinging to see if it looked as fun as it did in Spiderman 2 BUT OH NO THERE'S A MILLION DIFFERENT CAMERA ANGLES IN THE SPACE OF A 30 SECOND LONG TRAILER.

Daaaammmnnn, Activision stepping their game up!

Looks like a HD PS1 game
You meant PS2 right? Or did you mod your PS1 like that other guy modded his PS3 to achieve MAXIMUM GRAPHICS?
