Ravenmark is a really good TBS but a bit different from XCOM.

Cheers, man. This is probably a good time to mention that we're bringing back the "demo" version of Ravenmark, in the form of an Episodic version that offers the Prelude campaign for free. It's called RAVENMARK: SOE [Episodic] on the App Store. It should be out by tomorrow in all territories - aka if you live in New Zealand you can pick it up now.

For those who need to try before you buy, pick this up. We're not XCOM but you probably won't be disappointed if you love turn-based strategy. :)

I keep checking on FFT iPad from time to time to see if Square Enix has delivered on their promise for redrawn graphics exclusive to that version. It hasn't happened yet.

Just seen the geekbench 2 marks for the 4th gen ipad, over 1700! compared to about 720 for the 3rd gen I have I feel really burned :(

Now I am torn about selling and buying the new model, that extra cpu looks like it could last a good 2 years before having to upgrade again, since the 3rd gen is really an ipad 2 with a new screen and that device is 2 years old.
I used to think like you then I realized it doesn't matter. Is your iPad 3rd gen slow. Its not and it will most likely not be any time soon. They still sell the second gen and just released an iPad mini that performs on par with the second gen iPad. Seems like you won't be getting left behind any time soon.

I haven't been playing many games lately on my phone. Anyone have any impressions on the new Kairosoft clothing store title?

I'll ask again - November iOS thread. Any takers?

To any mods reading, will this thread be locked and dropped when the montly goes up?

Thought you would do it. :)

I wouldn't mind doing something, but probably just a 'notable games roundup for October'.

Someone would have to make some banners though.

I dropped the $5 for Borderlands.

Don't buy it.

November! It's for November! So when the thread goes up it would be mostly empty apart from the usual OP gubbins. And then by weeks end the most promising/talked about games would be listed. And then the next week add a few more and so on. By the end of the month we'd have a record of what came out in November. Easy :)

I might just do it though, get the ball rolling and start it off. I might have some time tonight to draft something up.

Edit: but if someone wants to make some banners that would be aces.

You should include the "notable games from last month" in the OPs too for people like me who will probably just dip in occasionally to see what's up :)

Am I an idiot or is 10000000 super hard?

I haven't played it a lot yet, but I do suck real bad. I play plenty of match 3 games but something about 1000000's sliding tiles fucks with my brain. It doesn't help that I'm constantly distracted by whatever's going on in the animated part of the screen.

There will definitely be that in future threads since each will link back to the last, but I'm sure it can be arranged.

What were the best games from last month anyway? Punch Quest, the triumphant return of Ziggurat, that spelling game evryone is going nuts over. What else has there been?

Didn't Lili come out in October?

Carmageddon and True Skate come to mind. It's hard to keep up with everything, but that's another good reason for a monthly recap thread.

I spent more of my time playing games that came out in September (Bad Piggies, Rayman Run), but here are my favorite October releases.

Girls Like Robots: Awesome (and charming) puzzle game.
Tentacles: A fairly unique action game, in that it works well on a touchscreen.
Devil's Attorney: Not the greatest, the courtroom RPG battles get repetitive, but definitely has its worthwhile moments.

I definitely recommend Girls Like Robots, but the other two aren't bad either.

Not to sound mean, but shouldn't we restrict the best of list to games we actually talked about in this thread, instead of personal favourites? I remember Devil's Attorney maybe vaguely, the other 2 not at all mentioned. Games like True Skate and Carmageddon got a lot more talk time here.

(Lili was also mentioned)

That's funny, I remember Girls Like Robots getting some buzz and Tentacles both getting mentioned. They can go in the thread since I have like 6 games. The more the merrier. And Tentacles is published by Microsoft, that's weird enough for an inclusion.

Really? It's the first time I've heard from them and I like to think I folloe this thread closely... But if they got some general love here then I retract my previous statement. Also, Lili was the iphone 5 release showcase game (i think, it was the showcase game for something), for what it's worth.

Fine, whatever (though I think those games got about the same amount of buzz as Lili:). It's not my fault not everyone has my great taste in games and would rather spend their time on the endless-runner flavor of the week:)

I apologized maaaaaan :p I guess my memory is just bad. :p Now let's go back to me beating you in the SW tourney, shall we? :p

Weird, i was under the impression that the newest stuff will be discussed here, while at the end of each month, a 'Monthly wrap up of notable games of said month' thread would be made for the peasants that don't hang out here.

Some of the highlight for me have been:

Burrito Bison
Cool Pizza
Don't Look Back
DoDonPachi Maximum

Plus some games that have already been mentioned.

I haven't played Girls yet, but I've heard only positive things about it. I think TA gave it 4.5 or 5 stars (for what it's worth) and it's an Adult Swim title, which are usually quite good. I should check it out soon.

No, this has come up a few times. Monthly threads = replacement for this thread. Otherwise, what's the point? We want to educate and mix with the peasants, give them a less intimidating thread.

If both of the threads were operational, one would become a graveyard and therefore unnecessary.

The community and the feel of it will remain unchanged, we're just creating little jumping on points every month. It'll be fun!
