Can't say I'm surprised by these reviews at all. Writing was on the wall before release. SkillUp's review is interesting because he brings up (multiple times) about small things that could annoy some, or hamper their experience. Even mentioned how playing the first five hours felt really disappointing, but then it immediately changed. I'd like to give this an honest to god truth, but like he's also said, if you didn't like Breath of the Wild you're very likely to not like Tears of the Kingdom.

People talking about review buff and i feel like its kinda true but its not like +10 points. Surely without the Zelda tag it wouldve been less, but 91/92 it would reach anyway. So whats the point? Its bound to be a great game. No need to cry because the number is bigger then Elden Ring number. Bloodborne scored lower then Elden ring and is better... Just take these numbers as an indicator. High = likely a good game, low = likely a bad game. And go from there. Dont fight over 2-3 points on a website. Lol.

Its surely a great game and cant wait to play it whenever i can play it in 4k/60. Not gonna do it on base switch. 1080p/30 is a nogo for me personally. Dont support this with my wallet anymore.

Couldn't agree more. People treat review numbers (and reviews) like they're everything and more. I'll never understand it. I more so look at ones by folks I dig to see their opinion as I'm curious, but nothing will affect my own opinion. But none of this should be too surprising when there are still folks so loyal to their favorite plastic box that they become uber defensive or angry when talking about anything they may disagree with in the slightest.

Also, right there with you about performance. I know it's surprising that the game is even able to run on the Switch which is a massive feat within itself. But man, I just personally can't get excited about a major exclusive title purposely running at 30fps with frame drops in 2023.

Everything’s relative though. Running this at 30fps on a tablet with 2015 hardware can be a technical achievement, running it at 30fps on a computer that’s 100x stronger obviously isn’t.

Let’s not talk about the scope of this game and all the new complex mechanics in play… how these devs managed to accomplish this is out of this world.

And in the same vein we got a broken mess of a game from a trillion dollar company…

Zelda changed the game.....But there are still classic Zelda's to play. This version of Zelda is about the exploration. Maybe the next consoles iteration will be more traditional. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Zelda maker at some point.

This was almost me. Bought it as a second game, played it for like 10 hours and felt helpless. I have no problem playing super hard games like I wanna be the guy but damn if you give me a sandbox game like that.

Bruh this is like the pinnacle of Zelda. Maybe Skyward Sword deserves mediocre scores, but it ain’t this game. It’s as 10/10 as gaming gets.

30fps is LOW, thats why. Anything under 60fps in 2023 is trash with the tech we have today. How they can give a game perfect score when it's technically underperforming just goes to show how biased reviewers are. They should deduct atleat 1 point from the performance alone.
