Anneke is![]()
18 & life is a legit banger.Been switching to metal recently from hip-hop. Right now I have Metallica's - Seek N Destroy and Pantera's - This Love on loop.
A bit less heavy, but Skid Row were a pretty good band at the time. '18 and Life' really gets my emotions going.

I'm not a huge connoisseur but I really like their first records Mandillion and Nightime Birds. Also, check out her other band Vuur and her work with Devin Townsend. Everything she touches is fantastic. Can you tell me everything you know about themlock2k ? I wanna learn
Looks like they had some dude before Anneke and were just like some straight up metal band
They added her and started adding more symphonic, dream pop elements etc

If you're new to the whole scene, some of yesterday's classics might be just the thing. Faith No More, maybe?
Sounds like to me that band that's middle of the road. Not too heavy or light. But sounds just right.
I actually, unironically, still like themMy first metal band was Limp Bizkit

Think your enjoying slow beaters from metal band. Here is one thats fit imo Seek and Destroy and This Love,
If I played this at my bro's tombstone, he'd jump up punch me and rock and listen to this track.
Holy fuck, this is amazing. Riff and solo are amazing! Drums really really get me going too.
Black Sabbath Purest right here lol. However, it wasn't until I obsessed over Megadeth that I begun to kick the door open into the world of metal. My first metal band was Limp Bizkit
Yep
Glad you like it. Ill try to post some more tomorrow. Perhaps you listen to it already, if not, give a try to Pantera - Walk. One of my fav song!
Soooo groovy. If you like progressive metal check out this album especially.
It is a weird name. It is from the same scene in Florida that gave us Death and Cynic.I won't be listening to bands named "atheist" but I do love prog.
Ah, well, Death was revolutionary, never heard of Cynic though. It is a weird name. It is from the same scene in Florida that gave us Death and Cynic.

Prog is my favorite genre, metalcore is my least favorite.
The bassist on the first Atheist album was Roger Patterson. He died in a car crash. He was replaced by the former bassist from Cynic.
All the members of Death quit around 91. Chuck needed new members so he got the two main members of Cynic to record the Human album with him and tour. This was the first time Death got proggy.
So the community is pretty tight knit.
Cynic used to be a bit controversial. In the beginning they were technical death metal, but the lead singer threw out his voice, so on their debut album it is half screams and half vocoder vocals.
Don’t miss their demos.
Hell yea man it's great!Man that sound mix is something else. Thanks for the link!
Here is 5 more!
The start of that song always has me ready to blame my dog for busting my headphones. Then at 8 seconds in, it all comes flooding back.
In case you haven't heard Eruption yet, you might enjoy these. Hell, for how many times Testament, Megadeth, King Diamond and even Artillery, among other thrash bands have been dropped in this thread, I would bet many would enjoy them.
