The New Golden Age of Asian Games

Too much use of purple in those games even Japan gone WOKE. The game industry is screwed

Now you’ve got me thinking about classic box arts that heavily feature purple

All I could think of was…

Not particularly, other than Ape Escape, Gran Turismo and WipEout I just wasn’t a fan of Sony’s games back in the 90s.

It’s was the sheer wealth of quality games from Capcom, Konami, Namco and Squaresoft that finally convinced me to invest in PlayStation, not Sony’s studios.

It wasn’t until PS2 with the likes of Ico, God of War and Shadow of the Colossus that Sony became a respected developer in my eyes.

and then there's stuff like Baldur's Gate and Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 which is western that are great, but it isn't the cancerous American Western stuff.

What is even Western games? Like the football games, call of duty and fortnite?

They definitely have talent. I'm looking for a bigger explosion of unique gameplay concepts though, or just weirdness. Lots of very slick, cool stuff but not a lot of "weird" like you see from western indies and Japanese games. Weird is usually the most original.

Japanese and Chinese studios are making games for me. Western studios are making games for they/them.

I spent 20 minutes trying to make a female character in Avowed that didn't make me want to vomit. Same with Diablo. Same with everything. Western game dev no longer caters to the audience.

Never owned a PlayStation 1 just played on my brother's modded one.

I think so many people missed out of great games back then

You had a choice of Saturn, PlayStation, N64 and PC, if you didn’t have all four then so many utterly brilliant games would pass you by.

These days having a PS5/PC and a Switch covers everything.

Their best game this generation, Astro Bot, is Japanese.

If PlayStation continues at this current rate, don’t be surprised to see HQ move back to Japan.
That's your opinion and just like the 16-bit era and the 32-bit era I tire of people making out Japanese games are brilliant and Western games don't come close.
Can't see HQ going back to Japan Astrobot never set the sales charts alight and the USA is still where the money sales are for the big AAA games

There are plenty of great Western games I'm looking forward to this year along with Japanese stuff and yeah for sure it's nice too see SEGA Japan back in form too.
It's a great time to be a gamer thanks to the West and Japan

I didn't miss out on anything. I could happily play the games on my brother's PS1 and I owned a N64, but SEGA was where most of time and money went.

Theres no wrong picking east games.
They make games for the market, for the customers. They don't care about your side or whatever stupidity. They just want you to pick up your controller, play and enjoy the game disconnecting yourself from everything else.
