I hope Two and a Half Men and House win.

edit: just noticed this:

- A tribute to The Sopranos by the cast of Jersey Boys (Broadway Musical)

I wonder which show will win Best Drama.

They really were...well, their "Should Win" picks weren't bad from what I went through, but their actual predictions are far too dreary for my tastes.

And Ryan Seacrest is hosting. Which...yeah. Apparently they were close to getting Hugh Laurie to do it, but execs balked at people having no idea he is a) British and b) funny.

The main ones I care about and what should win...

Why even make a thread for this ****???

the MTV VMA's have more credibility than this pathetic list of nominees.

No "Shield".
No "Wire".
No "Dexter".

****ing joke. Only good nom in that entire list is Extras' Ricky Gervais and he isn't even gonna win.

The only thing I'm interested in is in what Hayden Panettiere is wearing.
And all the other hot women going. Sue me.
.

I'm only keeping an eye on the writing/acting awards Gervais and Merchant are up for. Specifically, I'm really hoping the Radcliffe episode of Extras wins for writing. An acting win for Gervais would be great, but I suppose the Golden Globe wins for The Office are enough by way of awards (since we all know these awards aren't about giving credit where credit is due, but giving specific people recognition, belatedly or for networking/politics/publicity reasons or whatever).

Okay...but they have pretty much everything else covered. The Emmys don't usually, you know, go off of what a gaming forum thinks is good. If that was the case, Heroes and 24 would win everything. No, they do okay thank you very much.

I can't believe they cut to TR Knight after talking about Isiah Washington in the opening scene.

Actually they don't thank you very ****ing much.
They obviously do go by what the Average Joe moron TV viewer watches since Grey's Anatomy (and a shitty season of GA at that) is nominated.

Also 24 won last year and Heroes is nominated this year.
So that completely refutes the point you made.

Oh and if you think Boston Legal is a better show than Dexter, Wire, Shield or BSG....
you need to rethink your taste.

TV shows and superficial awards: serious business.

I'm okay with Jaime winning.. she's incredible on Earl. I totally forgot we're 10 mins late or so from the live broadcast at the moment. :lol

Katherine Heigel?

I rest my case.

Yeah, I mean, I don't think anyone takes these award shows seriously. They're only a step or two higher than the VMAs.

Emmys are indeed terrible and rarely right about jackshit anything, much like the Oscars, the VMAs, the Grammys, and HOLD ON ALL MAINSTREAM AWARDS ARE TYPICALLY BAD

S3 US Office > S2 Extras

I'd say they're about on par. I will say that season 3 of the Office was considerably worse than season 2, however. Season 3 had a run of about five or six episodes that were overwhelming and even bad.

The fact that Dexter wasn't nominated for anything is criminal.
