It gets better in recent episodes, they seem to have completed their DEI propaganda requirements and now focus more on actual characters and plot

I noticed many shows have "preachy dialogue" moments not just nowadays back in the day too, but then it was more, let's all get along and accept each other, it may just be me but I feel today it's more preachy

I didn't like it at all. I thought ER was a much better character drama and medical show. I find Pitt too preachy, too smug with its intended moral messages, which makes characters seem more like cardboard cutouts. Additonally, the cinematography is very sterile and lifeless whereas ER had this breathing, grounded feel to it, the roughness of the 90's. ER was exceptionally good at making its characters human, and the medical aspect of it was really authentic and the various dilemmas healthcare personnel face. I didn't watch more than 4 episodes of Pitt.

Dude that’s so real. I had an insane addiction to opioids after spending over a year in the hospital with leukemia. I had no choice, I would have died without them. After my recovery started, my doctors told me it would take 3-5 years before I would be fully off of opioids. I did it in 2 years, and it was easily the most difficult thing I’ve ever done in my life, and I even had a support structure. Shit is so fucked.
Anyway, this show looks pretty cool. I’m definitely gonna give it a whirl when I get some free time. Are all of the episodes already available, or are they rolling them out week-by-week?

I like that they convey that ‘non-stop’ feeling of working in an ER where a simple one day shift can feel like weeks or months.
I hope for your sake that your avatar is Megas XLR and not Optimus Prime. The latter would be like having Captain Planet as your avatar and stating what you just stated.

I hadn't heard that, but I do know that Michael Crichton's family filed a lawsuit over the show because it was so similar to E.R.
I mean, it's essentially ER with Carter in the role of Dr. Greene.
John Wells, who co-created ER with Crichton is the creator of The Pitt too.

ER trailed off in the final seasons after most of the original cast left but the first few seasons were must-watch TV.
I remember watching the first handful of seasons when they premiered and then coming back a few years later, and it was like an entirely different show.
The episode when Dr. Greene died still sticks with me as one of the most emotional episodes of TV I've ever seen, and the episode where Lucy dies and Carter gets stabbed is a classic.
On the other hand, I can't remember a single episode of House and I watched most of that show too.

I have a feeling that series isn't even going to be a huge hit... That actor is stuck in his same role.
They're already boring, I always disliked the idiot boss on ER. Honestly, I disliked 90% of the ER cast.

Noah Wyle as Carter?
He did The Librarians and Falling Skies, both awesome ass shows where he was nothing like Carter.
If he wants to do an ER pseudo-sequel for some $$$ at this point in his career, I'd say he's earned it.

Technically yes, but it was more of an addition. Tim's character died and Wylie's character was recruited on the relaunch. It's on Prime Video if you want to check it out. Has a lot of the same charm and all of the cast returns except for Dutton. There's another new cast member... I posted her in the Beautiful Faces thread.
