it even has a preset with near-perfect scaling to full screen 1080p. it's great.
Man, that does sound amazing. But since XRGB-mini doesn't have component inputs, I'm guessing dterminal cables would be best for it, unless there's a way to get component cables to work with it.

can use the ol' Component female -> DT male converter that everyone should buy with a mini. 1:1 conversion, just a different form factor so there's no lag, loss of IQ, etc.
Ah, I heard about those, would had been nice if the mini came with it when you buy it, oh well at least there's the option for that.
Yep! Like what's already been said, D-terminal and Component carry the same analogue signal, so no losses. Just connect the component cables to a D-terminal adapter and the rest is history!

Thanks man! And surprisingly it didn't cost me much to track these games down. Much like with other systems, the price spikes are a recent development. I think the Soldier Collection is the one I paid the most for at $40, but the rest were fairly cheap. I guess it paid to be looking for these before others, haha.
But it is really interesting how Japanese shooters and shooters in general end up commanding quite high prices on the secondary market. I wonder how having a lot of these games on Steam and PSN will effect this in the future.
Oh nice, looks neat. I have 1 question: Do you set your aspect ratio to 4:3 or 16:9 when playing PSP games?
I have it set to 16:9
Is that better for PSP games than 4:3?

PSP games are natively extremely close to 16:9.

I recently picked up the dock and component cable for my PSP Go, but need to get a DS3 controller before I can try it out on my TV.

I don't know which PSP games have Photo Mode, but the one in MotorStorm Arctic Edge is great. I'm addicted to taking photos in mid-race.

Quick tip for psp component out. Switching the video out to interlace will cause it to output ps1 games at 240p!
Considering there is only 1, eternally sould out, device that allows you to run ps1 games from a usb/SD this makes a psp go a very attractive way to run your ripped ps1 games.

Yep, the My Life in Gaming guys did a ps1 episode and the PSP Go has a lot of good things going for it for playing ps1 games. You can also connect to a dualshock 3.

Daxter is sooo much fun. I actually prefer it to Jak 1, and on par with Jak 3 for me.
Check out Size Matters, as well. It's better than Secret Agent Clank.

I have that double pack but haven't gone through Clank yet. And I liked Jak 1 not Jak 2, just felt, more old schooly.

I do like how Jak 1 played more like a traditional platformer since it's my fav genre.

So how does everyone store their PSP game collection these days? I just got back into building my collection back up and use a binder with pages for baseball cards to hold the game, like this:
I did this with my GameBoy collection a few years back and figured I'd see if UMD's would fit and they do.

Boxes in shelf too. I started buying some games that I didn't back in the day. First, well known classics like Ghost of Sparta and Peace Walker. Now I'll see where I can find a copy of Tactics Ogre.

10ish years ago I kept all of my... Uhh... Backup dreamcast games in a big ass Cd binder. A few years ago when I got back into it I wanted to boot up some dreamcast games.
Every single disc was broken! Don't use Cd binders folks.

All gone, in the trash! Kidding, I still have them boxed away, but keeping them in the binder is way easier for me since I can carry them around the house and not have to dig them out of the box.

PSP games don't stretch and IMHO look like crap on a HDTV. PSX games look great tho. I have a CRT with RGB but haven't tried that yet, even though I have owned these cables since launch.

You pretty much have to be sitting close to the TV to get the best view...did you see my screenshots I posted earlier? That's what it looks like.Oh well, I'll just give it a go for curiosity's sake, once it arrives.
It was literally a couple of extra euros, on top of a my planned purchase... No doubt I'll keep rocking my trusty 2004 for regular PSP gaming.
I did, but for some reason I assumed they were coming out from some capture device/upscaler.
They were, through my capture device, I took these screenshots with my Startech capture card in 720x480 since that's what PSP outputs at for max res.=O
That's what they look like on a TV...the games are always in 480x272 with no upscaling while there are black bars not only on the sides(obviously) but top and bottom as well. So you need to be next to your TV to see properly!

It's in the video out settings. You can change between interlace and progressive. Why it outputs a progressive image for ps1 games when set to interlace mode no one knows lol.
Dubc had the hookup on a great video that goes over this you can check out.
My PSP-2000 (which was given to me by a nephew) has started to randomly ask if I'd like to quit the game (a la hitting the Home key). I don't think it's an overly sensitive home button, but rather the disc door sensor being triggered. It happens mostly when i hit right on the D-pad.
Anyone had this happen on a well-worn PSP? I am thinking I will do a shell swap to see if that fixes it (while I wait for a PSP-3000 to come in the mail).
